AirAsia X offering discounted fares on new Wuhan route

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia X is offering 8,888 cheap seats to Wuhan in celebration of their inaugural flight to the Chinese city.
Fares as low as RM188 are available for one-way trips, while its Premium Flatbed seats are going for as low as RM688, also one-way.
Passengers on the inaugural flight on Wednesday received a special send-off from AirAsia X's management at KLIA2 and were treated to special goodies and unique in-flight activities.
Its CEO Benyamin Ismail said China is a key market for both AirAsia and AirAsia X and this new connection would strengthen the airline's presence in China.
"We are happy to connect Wuhan directly to Kuala Lumpur after Kota Kinabalu, Bangkok and Phuket, operated by our short-haul affiliates AirAsia and AirAsia Thailand," he said.
He added that besides its many tourist attractions, Wuhan's strategic position in central China allowed it to be a hub for many industries.
AirAsia and AirAsia X combined offer 35 weekly flights to Wuhan, making the group the largest foreign carrier into China in terms of passenger load.
