As the first round of the 2017 season draws nearer, the SIC Racing Team gear up for the first official Moto3 pre-season test at the Circuito de Jerez.
Returning to Europe after a successful first test on the teams’ home turf in Malaysia, riders Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki head to Spain determined to make further progress on board their Honda NSF250RW machines.
Commencing on Wednesday 8th March, the three-day test will see the Moto3 field come together for the first time this year, giving the teams and riders an opportunity to compare their progress, ahead of the opening round in Qatar in just three weeks’ time.

“We left Sepang feeling very pleased with the new bike, so we’re looking forward to continuing our work at this next test in Jerez. We still have things to work on, which we will carry out over the three days in Spain but overall, both the crew and riders already have a good understanding of the new bike; we’re confident we can make good progress at this test. Of course the weather in Spain at this time of year always plays a big part, so let’s see how that turns out too. It will also be interesting to see with the other Moto3 riders on track, where we stand. We have to really show our true potential this year, so there can be no holding back, we have to work harder than ever and start stronger than before.”

“I’m very excited for the IRTA test; it’s been a long time since we have ridden alongside other Moto3 teams and this can change many things. I’m feeling a lot more confident this year, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can do at Jerez. I’m very happy with the new bike; the test at Sepang went well and proved to be very useful; now we know what we need to focus on and work through at this next test to improve. Jerez is quite a technical track so for sure we will need to change a few things but overall I think the new Honda will work well at this circuit.
The most important thing for the Jerez test is that we prepare as much as possible so we are ready to start strong at the first race in Qatar. I want to concentrate on my riding style and also make some consistently good lap times; this is good for a strong mentality. We must work hard, stay focussed and achieve our targets.”

“The testing in Sepang finished in a really good way, so I can't wait for the official test in Jerez.
We worked a lot on the bike out in Malaysia so we don't have anything big to test this time in terms of chassis and suspension but for sure we will make some adjustments. It’s important that we use our time at Jerez to really find a good rhythm; try some longer runs and find a good feeling ready for Qatar. Our target in Jerez is to do as many laps as possible, push hard and focus on how the tyres and set up works in preparation for the first round.”
