Ready For The Malaysia MotoGP? A Survival Guide For MotoGP Fans

The Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix 2016 is just around the corner, so are you physically and mentally ready for the MotoGP next weekend? Most of the tickets are already sold out, so Sepang International Circuit will be filled with passionate fans from around the world cheering on their favourite riders. With 90,000 fans expected to be at the circuit on race day this year, SIC has prepared this survival guide just for fans, to make the experience at the MotoGP an enjoyable and memorable one.

Keep hydrated and prepare for the unpredictable weather
The tropical Malaysian weather can be unpredictable, with heavy downpours bringing races to a halt. It is recommended that you bring sunblock, sunglasses, an umbrella or disposable raincoat. You can also purchase your favourite team cap or an SIC cap at the merchandise store if you don’t have one yet, to protect you from the sun or even rain. Do keep yourself hydrated throughout the day. Remember to get a few bottles of water or drinks from the food and beverage vendors before taking your seat.

Apart from keeping hydrated, remember to take note of the traffic during race weekend. It’s going to be a huge event, so give yourself enough time to get to the circuit – we suggest 1.5 to 2 hours early. It also helps to build momentum and anticipation for the races. There are public transport packages starting from as low as RM12 for a one way trip, with Rapid KL providing a dedicated bus service. If you’re driving or biking there, purchase a parking pass. Find out more about the bus service, parking passes and recommended parking zones at SIC’s website. 6.jpg
