Tourism Malaysia’s promotional video, Malaysia Truly Asia - The Essence of Asia, was awarded major prizes at two prestigious festivals last month.
M&C Saatchi Malaysia, which produced the five-minute video, says in a statement that it picked up the Ecotourism and Responsible Travel Award at the 3rd Deauville Green Awards in France. Held from June 17 to 19 at the Multiplex Le Morny, the Deauville Green Awards celebrates the world’s best audiovisual productions in the fields of sustainable development and ecology.
This year’s competition saw 250 entries from 30 countries comprising TV programmes, documentaries, corporate films, webdocs and promotional messages.
In a separate development, Tourism Malaysia received the bronze award in the Music Video Category at the 35th Annual Telly Awards in America.
The Telly Awards honours the very best in film and video productions, groundbreaking online content as well as outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programmes. Founded in 1970, the Telly is one of the most sought-after award by industry leaders, instantly recognisable by its trademark silver Telly statuette.
Speaking on Tourism Malaysia’s wins, Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Mirza Mohammad Taiyab commends the joint efforts of Tourism Malaysia and M&C Saatchi in promoting Malaysia as a world-class ecotourism destination.
