Malaysia launches campaign first in Australia

Malaysia Tourism has chosen to kickstart its new campaign in Australia, calling it key despite being the eighth inbound market.
The campaign, Visit Malysia Year 2014, aims to increase Australian arrival figures by 25% from 2012 figures, which amounts to 620,000 Australians.
"Australia is a key market for Malaysia, with visitor arrivals from Australia to Malaysia growing year-on-year," Malaysia tourism minister Dato Seri Mohamed Nazri Bin Tan Sri Abdul Aziz said. Australian short term visitors to Malaysia are up 6% compared to the same period for 2012.
"I feel there is great potential to increase this further," the minister said. The tourism minister will reach out to wholesalers, media, retailers, airlines and the MICE industry.
Visit Malaysia Year 2014 is a global campaign aiming to bring 28 million tourists to the country next year.
