LED man lights up Suria KLCC

KUALA LUMPUR: Suria KLCC is already alight with Christmas decorations, but a peculiar light display on the Esplanade deck caught everyone's eye.
It was performance artist Choong Yun Chean who was dressed in a black outfit laced with 300 tiny LED lights “It took me a week to make this LED suit which cost RM2,500,” said Choong, 16, who was there to promote the upcoming BBKLCC year-end celebrations.
“I never knew standing still can be a talent!” said the SMK Bandar Baru Seri Petaling student, adding that he could do so for up to three hours. Choong's flashy LED performance offered a preview of what's in store for the upcoming BBKLCC Tourism Association inaugural year-end celebration.
Themed “Celebration of the Best at BBKLCC”, the shopping district will be transformed into a festive hub across its nine member malls. BBKLCC Tourism Association chairman Joyce Yap said the festivities which starts on Monday is being held in conjunction with the ongoing 1Malaysia Year End Sale.
“It is also to celebrate Kuala Lumpur being ranked the second best shopping destination in Asia Pacific in the Global Shoppers Index,” she said. Yap said the launch would take place at Ramlee Mall, Suria KLCC at 8pm on Monday.
“Guests will be treated to a spectacular line-up of entertainers like Shila Amzah, One Nation Emcees, Wakaka Breakdancers, beatboxer Shaun Lee and others,” said Yap, adding that Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen is set to grace the event as well.
Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak also tweeted that CNN has voted KL the 4th Best Shopping City in the world. “Another impressive achievement,” said the Prime Minister yesterday. For more information, visit www.bbklccmalaysia.com/.
