PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) second Airbus A380 aircraft has arrived in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), as the national carrier begins daily A380 flights between Kuala Lumpur and London.
Effective today, MAS' A380 flights between KLIA and London Heathrow operates on a daily basis, said MAS group chief executive officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya. “Our first of six A380s has been operating this route thrice weekly since July 1.
“With the second aircraft joining our fleet, we will offer daily A380 flights on this route,” he said in a media statement yesterday. “We are also on track to provide the A380 service on the main kangaroo' route, between London and Sydney, when the third A380 begins daily operations on the Sydney-Kuala Lumpur route by end November this year,” he added.
The A380 flight MH2 departs KLIA at 11.40pm and arrives in London Heathrow at 5.50am the next day. The return flight, MH3, departs London Heathrow at 12pm and arrives in KLIA at 7.25am the following day.
MAS' older B747 aircraft departs KLIA daily at 10.05am via flight MH4 and arrives in London Heathrow at 4.15pm. Return flight MH1 leaves London Heathrow at 10pm and arrives at KLIA the following day.
