Bargain hunters flock to JPO for extra discounts

KULAIJAYA: The wet weather did not deter bargain hunters who rushed to the Johor Premium Outlets (JPO) here for some last-minute Hari Raya shopping. Despite a downpour, the outlets were packed with shoppers looking for further discounts in conjunction with the festive period.
Marketing executive Shahrizan Shaifuddin, 30, said he did not like to shop at the last minute because of large crowds but he wanted to buy a gift for his wife. “I bought her a Michael Kors purse at 50% discount for Hari Raya and that made her very happy,” he said.
The father of two said he also could not resist buying himself a pair of running shoes after seeing the attractive discounts before he and his wife made their way back to Kluang for the holidays.
Singaporean Julianna Hamdan, 35, said she was on her way back to her husband's hometown in Malacca with her family and decided to stop by the JPO to check out the discounts. “Luckily, my husband agreed to my request to stop by because I managed to grab some lingerie items at bargain prices and a pair of jeans at less than half the original price,” she said.
