The Plenitude Penang International Dragon Boat Festival is back again to delight the audience with its nail-biting races.
This year, there will be 14 international teams from countries such as Australia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States. State Tourism Development and Culture Committee chairman Danny Law Heng Kiang said 13 Malaysian teams would also be taking part in the competition. The teams hailed from Kedah, Malacca, Penang, Perak and Selangor. “They’ll be taking part in more than 10 categories,” he told a press conference yesterday.
The dragon boat races will take place on June 30 and July 1 from 9am to 6pm. Those interested in taking part in the races should call 04-6505136 or the event’s hotline number at 016-4110000. Alternatively, they can also log on to www.penangdragonboat.gov.my.
