Wives Need To Play Role In Promoting Domestic Tourism, Says Rosmah

Kuala Lumpur, May 1 (Bernama) - Wives could play a role in promoting domestic tourism by encouraging their families to holiday at local tourist destinations, said the prime minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor. "They could persuade their husbands and children to always holiday locally," she said when opening the Perak Festival, here, Sunday night.

The festival, being held at the Kuala Lumpur Tower here since Thursday until this coming Sunday, features the culture, arts and traditional games and cuisine of the state.

Rosmah said in an effort to draw more tourists to Perak, the state government needed to have more creative strategies and programmes. She also suggested that the tourism industry players capitalise on the country's unique racial society and different cultures to get more locals and foreign tourists to holiday in Malaysia.
