Tourism activities allowed for those fully vaccinated in states no longer under Phase 1

KUALA LUMPUR: Tourism activities involving homestays and hotels within the same state will be allowed in states that have transitioned out of Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) for fully-vaccinated individuals from Tuesday (Aug 10).

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said these individuals are required to furnish their digital vaccination certificates before being allowed to enter such premises.

"The government is ready to provide privileges to individuals who are fully-vaccinated after taking into consideration feedback from the Health Ministry.

"This decision was made carefully and in line with data gathered in the country on the effectiveness of full vaccination, as well as public health measures adopted globally," he said while announcing relaxation of conditions for fully-vaccinated people during a live broadcast today.

He said the authorities have set two criteria in allowing privileges for fully-vaccinated individuals.

He said 14 days must have passed for those who receive the two-dose vaccine types, namely Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sinovac as the first criteria.

Secondly, for single-dose vaccine recipients, namely, Johnson & Johnson and Cansino, they will be acccorded the privileges 28 days after the injection date.
