Red Carpet @ i-City a boon to Selangor's tourism sector

Malaysia's first megastar interactive wax museum the Red Carpet Wax Museum is a boon to the growing list of tourist attractions in i-City and Selangor's tourism sector.

The 3,000 square feet Red Carpet Wax Museum features over 100 wax figures of famous people from history and contemporary personalities of today.

An inspection by Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) concludes that there's no wax figure of a Chinese communist leader there, as reported in a blog recently.

In a statement, MBSA said it has conducted an inspection at the museum and found that the premises had been closed since March 2020, due to the Movement Control Order that was implemented following the Covid-19 pandemic.

"In this regard, MBSA seeks cooperation from the public to obtain accurate and authentic facts before publishing any information, either through social media platforms or mass media, because it can confuse the public," MBSA said.

The Red Carpet Wax Museum is part of Leisure Park @ i-City, Malaysia No 1 Technology City.

Leisure Park @ i-City started with the City of Digital Lights in December 2009 and, over the years, major attractions such as SnowWalk, WaterWorld, Red Carpet, and Red Carpet 2 were added to enhance the development.

The wax museum opened in 2013 and has attracted both local and international tourists.

The Oscar-like awards setting is categorised according to six themes – World Icons, Celebrities, Sport Stars, World Book of Records, All Stars CafĂ©, and Interactive.

The wax characters cover everything from K Pop to royalty, and Hollywood to Bollywood.
