Thais Throng Malaysian Tourism Fair

BANGKOK, June 10 (Bernama) -- It was good time for a couple of hundred people who took the weekend break to visit Malaysia Truly Asia Fair at the Malaysian Embassy here on Sunday.

The lucky ones get free return air tickets from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur from Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia as well as complimentary vouchers for resorts and hotels.

The event, held in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 to promote Malaysia's tourist sports and enhance bilateral ties, was officiated by Malaysian Ambassador to Thailand Datuk Nazirah Hussain.

Bangkok deputy governor Dr Pusadee Tamthai was the guest of honour at the event organised by the embassy in collaboration with Kelab Malaysia Thailand and Tourism Malaysia.

The visitors made a beeline for a number of stalls offering Malaysian food such as nasi lemak and tour packages offered by airlines and tour and travel agencies.
A total of 1.156 million Thais visited Malaysia last year. It accounted for 4.5 per cent of the 25.7 million tourist arrivals in Malaysia last year.
