Langkawi Offers Aidiladha Sacrifice Rite Tour Package

LANGKAWI, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- The Langkawi Homestay Association has received an overwhelming response on its travel packages, including the Aidiladha sacrifice rite package at the Langkawi Travel Mart in Singapore recently. Its chairman, Mokhtar Shahabudin said the RM500 Aidiladha sacrifice rite package included accommodation, tour and joining the rite. "We received many inquiries on tour packages offered from families and students. "Homestay travellers will enjoy a stay in a scene village, experience planting padi and fishing, and learn about local culture," he told Bernama here.

The travel mart was organised by Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) in collaboration with the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Kedah, Langkawi Tourism Association, Langkawi Hotels Association, Langkawi Homestay Association, Tourism Malaysia and the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore. Mokhtar said 180 rooms were available under the homestay programme in Kampung Wang Tok Rendong, Kampung Sungai Itau, Kampung Bukit Tangga, Kampung Pulau Tuba, Kampung Selat Bagan Nyior and Kampung Padang Lalang Ayer Hangat. Singapore is connected to Langkawi by direct flights with Silk Air, Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia and Tiger Always. According to Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), about 40,000 Singaporeans visited Langkawi last year.
