Alibaba's Malaysia Week targets China's consumers

KUALA LUMPUR: Alibaba Group has launched its "Malaysia Week" online promotion as the company aims to raise the profiles of Malaysia's tourism attractions and its products to Chinese consumers.

The initiative, which will take place from July 6 to 12, will showcase over 50 Malaysian brands across a wide range of product categories.

"The "Malaysia Week" campaign will showcase an array of "must-see", "must-eat" and "must-experience" Malaysian products and tourism across Alibaba's platforms", Alibaba said on Monday.

The promotion is the result of the collaboration between the Malaysian government and Alibaba.


In November last year, Alibaba launched its international eHub in Malaysia under the electronic world trade platform initiative, which the first outside China.

Alibaba has also launched its national office in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur on Monday, which was officiated by Alibaba co-founder and executive chairman Jack Ma.
