The luxurious resort in Ipoh won in two categories – Luxury World Wedding Venue (Global Winner) and Luxury Hotel Restaurant (Country Winner).
The Tourism Advisor Malaysia to Switzerland Datuk Jeffery Sandragesan received the two awards on behalf of The Haven at a gala ceremony which took place at Grand Hotel Kronenhof Pontresina in Switzerland on June 18.
The winners of the 2016 World Luxury Awards were determined on adjudged merits and on a global voting poll among the finalists with a voting period from March 7 until April 18.
The Haven's chief executive officer Peter Chan said he was most pleased with the two awards because now the beauty of Ipoh will be noticeable globally.
"Now that it has been awarded the Global Winner of Luxury Wedding Destination, the world will begin to see the beauty of Ipoh. Although new, The Haven's Cuisines Restaurant stands tall with all the other excellent food establishments in Ipoh and has even gone on to win the finest hotel restaurant in Malaysia," he said.
The resort is set in a pristine natural environment and the restaurant boasts an al fresco section which overlooks a calm lake ringed by untouched limestone hills and the 280 million-year-old beauty of a limestone rock named Rockhaven.
The Halal-certified Cuisines, one of the F&B outlets within The Haven, is well known for its wholesome, healthy menu where food is prepared with the freshest of ingredients and without preservatives, monosodium glutamate (MSG) or artificial additives.
In addition to Asian, Western and Mediterranean cuisines, it also serves the best of local favourites such as Ipoh chicken rice, Singapore laksa, Cantonese-style wat tan hor (noodles), nasi lemak and seafood char kway teow.
