DRIVE M7 SIC Racing Team Raring To Race In America

Austin, Texas – Wednesday 6th April
Circuit: Circuit of The Americas
Circuit Length: 5.5 km
Fresh from a positive weekend in Argentina, the DRIVE M7 SIC Racing Team make their way north to the Circuit of The Americas in Austin Texas, for round three of the World Championship.
Following a sensational ride by Moto3 rookie Adam Norrodin in Argentina last week, the 17-year-old Malay is eager to get back on track and back to good form. Motivated from his near podium finish at the South American circuit, Norrodin has his sights firmly set on another competitive race weekend.
Achieving his second consecutive point scoring finish in Argentina, Jakub Kornfeil is ready to continue adding to his Championship tally as he focusses his attentions on another strong result. Targeting the top ten from first practice, Kornfeil aims to improve his qualifying position, giving him the start he needs to battle with the leaders for his best finish of the season so far.
Situated in Austin Texas, COTA, as it is most commonly known, was the first circuit in the United States to be purpose-built for Formula One. With a counter-clockwise driving direction and a unique elevation change of forty one metres, the Circuit of The Americas has one of the most varied track layouts on the MotoGP calendar. Including a mix of both fast straights and tight hairpins the circuit encompasses twenty corners, with eleven left and nine right-hand turns.
#84 Jakub Kornfeil
“Austin is a very long wide track, but I think it can be good for me. We just need to set-up the bike as soon as possible so we can be in the top ten from the start. This is the most important thing for Austin, to find a good setting quickly and get on the pace. It’s a back to back race weekend so for sure everyone will be pushing immediately because we are now in the rhythm. It will be a tough weekend but I feel confident that we can do well.”
#7 Adam Norrodin
“Austin is another new track for me, so I don’t know so much about it. I’ve watched races on TV and used the MotoGP game on the PlayStation to try and learn the layout a little. From what I’ve seen, it looks like it will suit my style. I’m feeling good on the bike right now, so for this next GP I know I just need to keep focused, continuing learning and try my best. We will push hard as always, stay calm and for sure we can have a good race.”
