Superstar Virgo Cruise Ship Berths At Nusajaya Wednesday

JOGJAKARTA (Indonesia), Dec 21 (Bernama) -- Come Wednesday, luxury cruise ship, SuperStar Virgo will berth at the Puteri Harbour Ferry Terminal in Nusajaya near Johor Baharu.

Johor Tourism, Trade and Consumerism Committee chairman Datuk Tee Siew Kiong said the one-day stop at the terminal was a good start in promoting tourism in Johor at international level.

"The selection of Johor Baharu as one of its stops during a 48-day voyage will open a new chapter in tourism in Johor," he told reporters after an 'Explore Johor' Tourism Mission Programme to Jogjakarta from Friday and ending yesterday.

According to Tee, the tourists aboard the ship, owned by Star Cruises, would visit several tourism centres in Johor Baharu such as the Legoland Theme Park and Johor Premium Outlet during the stop.

He said the voyage of Superstar Virgo encompassed eight nations on the Asian and Australian continents, starting from Hong Kong in China.

He said the ship, with 1,000 passengers and 800 crew would stop by at Danang and Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam and Bangkok, Thailand before berthing in Nusajaya.
