Tune Hotel opens in Ipoh after months of anticipation

Tune Hotel Ipoh has finally opened its doors at the intersection of Jalan Veerasamy and Jalan Horley, after months of eager anticipation by travellers and locals alike.

Tune Hotels Group chief executive officer Mark Lankester said the hotel, the 11th Tune Hotel in Malaysia, was the first to feature the Group’s redesigned Brand Standards. “As we grow globally, it is becoming more and more important that we have a universally common-design DNA.

“We worked closely with a group of really talented designers to come up with a look and feel that we like and, most importantly, our guests like,” he said in a statement. He said that over time, all existing Tune Hotels would “slip on the new look” and all new hotels in development would likewise adopt the same Brand Standards. Tune Hotel Ipoh offers 121 rooms comprising 80 double rooms, 40 twin rooms and one wheelchair-friendly room.

It also houses commercial retail outlets including an AirAsia Travel & Service Centre to cater to the travel needs of residents in Ipoh and surrounding areas. “In support of Visit Perak Year 2012, Tune Hotel Ipoh is providing an option for visitors who come to Perak to stay in world-class accommodation at extremely affordable rates, providing the essentials of a good night’s sleep,” Lankester said.

Calling on guests to stay connected with Tune Hotels via Facebook and Twitter, Lankester said that about 30 new Tune Hotels would be opening globally in the next year. “More Tune Hotels are scheduled to open in Asean, the United Kingdom, India and Australia. “With these new hotels, our number of guests will grow even faster and we expect to reach the five million mark by mid-2012,” he said.
