KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 (Bernama) -- Tune Hotels.com today opened its latest hotel in the Kota Damansara township of Petaling Jaya, complementing its existing hotels in the Klang Valley. Tune Hotel Kota Damansara is the ninth hotel to open since Tune Hotels.com launched its first in 2007, making it one of the fastest growing hotel chains. The opening came two weeks after Tune Hotel Danga Bay in Johor Baharu started operations on May 15, 2010. "This is our commitment to the tourism and hospitality industries. We want to be a relevant player both domestically and internationally," said Tune Hotels.com's group chief executive officer Mark Lankester. "Affordable accommodation offered by Tune Hotels not only spurs domestic and local travel but also attracts foreign tourists who have contributed significantly to the economy," he said.
Under its global expansion plan, Tune Hotels.com has forged strategic partnerships with Apodis Hospitality Group for 20 hotels in India by 2012, Bangkok-based Evolution Capital PCL for 44 hotels across Thailand, China, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Indonesia, and UK-based Queensbay Group Ltd for 15 hotels in London. Recently, Tune Hotels.com formed a 50-50 joint venture with Singapore-based Plato Capital Ltd to have 10 operational assets in South-East Asia, Australia and the United Kingdom by 2013. Together with homegrown development in Malaysia, Tune Hotels.com targets to have 100 operational hotels worldwide by 2012. Tune Hotel Kota Damansara is jointly developed and operated by Tune Hotels.com and Easywell Sdn Bhd.
