Tourism
Malaysia has participated in the 54th edition of the Vakantiebeurs Holiday Fair
as part of its initiative in promoting Malaysia to the Dutch market. The event
was held from 8 to 12 January 2025 at Jaarbeurs, Utrecht, Netherlands, the
largest travel fair in Benelux. Alongside co-exhibitors Sarawak Tourism Board
with local tour operators, Pangea Travel and iki Travels, Tourism Malaysia will
showcase Malaysia as a premier holiday destination to Vakantiebeurs visitors.
On the
trade day, Tourism Malaysia’s booth will be officiated by H.E. Dato’ Roseli
Abdul, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This year, the
fair expects over 60 industry partners, including airlines, tour operators,
travel agents, and travel media, to attend the soft launch. Tourism Malaysia
highlighted a variety of destinations and products from across the country,
including Kuala Kubu Bharu, a hidden gem known for its adventure and heritage.
Part of the
highlight activities at Tourism Malaysia pavilion was a cooking
demonstration alongside cultural performances to promote the Malaysia Pavilion.
Sarawak
Tourism Board, in collaboration with Mulu National Park, showcased the park's
offerings, including its UNESCO World Heritage status. The park features an
impressive cave system nestled within a pristine rainforest, which boasts a
wealth of biodiversity and geodiversity that satisfied all four criteria for
World Heritage.
