KLICF 2016 Aims For Sales Worth RM20 Million

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 (Bernama) - Kuala Lumpur International Craft Festival (KLICF) 2016 which will take place over four days from Nov 24 aims to net sale of RM20 million worth of products.

Kraftangan director-general Zuraida Othman was confident that the target could be met based on the sales worth RM13 million recorded last year.

"For the first time, we will highlight a collection of fabric with a variety of designs from countries participating in KLICF," he told reporters after the soft launch of KLICF 2016 by Ministry of Tourism and Culture secretary-general, Tan Sri Dr Ong Hong Peng, here today.

Zuraida said the event, the second to be held at Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur, is expected to attract some 30,000 local and international visitors.

"I hope that KLICF can become a platform for local craft entrepreneurs to share experience and exchange ideas with foreign entrepreneurs."

The festival will feature 450 craft entrepreneurs from 33 countries including Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Ecuador, Mexico and Venezuela.

Activities lined-up for visitors to the festival with the theme 'Craft Unite Society' include sales, demonstrations and cultural performances.
