At the ceremony to introduce the smart partners of FLORIA, YBhg Tan Sri Aseh Hj Che Mat, President of Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj) said “In line with the principle of “Making the Civil Service People-Oriented” as implemented by the government, collaboration or smart partnership with external agencies and corporate bodies would be able to reduce costs sustained by the government while enabling FLORIA to be self-sufficient in the future by implementing prudent spending.”
Besides educating members of the public about the importance of appreciating as well as conserving the environment, this collaboration also enables the Royal FLORIA Putrajaya to become a platform for these agencies to promote their products and services.
In addition to offering an opportunity for agencies and corporate bodies to jointly develop FLORIA as a tourism product for Putrajaya, this collaboration also serves as a platform to cultivate the minds of young people who are involved in the flower and garden festival via the school & university gardens competition and floral art competition.
Indirectly, such collaboration also fosters a sense of belonging among corporate agencies that are offering their utmost commitment in ensuring the success of the Royal FLORIA Putrajaya this year.
At the same ceremony, some permanent components of Anjung Floria were introduced. Among them are China-Malaysia Friendship Garden, English Garden, Pinwheel Garden, Fantasy Garden and FLORIA’s colourful entrance statement, which is expected to become an iconic attraction of Royal FLORIA Putrajaya.
Persiaran Floria or Floria Avenue has been given a new look, featuring a decorative water fountain with an entrance statement carrying colourful giant-sized letters denoting the word ‘FLORIA’, whileGalleria D’Floria offers a plethora of Royal FLORIA Putrajaya souvenirs at affordable prices.
Themed ‘Tapestry of Hues’, Royal FLORIA Putrajaya organised by Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj) in cooperation with the Ministry of Federal Territories and Tourism Malaysia, promises an exhibition of the Lily and its family in specially designed gardens and exhibits for the visual delight of visitors.
Royal FLORIA Putrajaya is a flower and garden festival organised by PPj since 2007. An annual event since 2009 due to overwhelming response from visitors, this festival showcases commercial products from the horticulture and landscape industry, garden displays, demonstrations by garden designers and local and international floral gardens showcased in a garden setting.
Royal FLORIA Putrajaya will be open to public viewing from May 30 to June 7, 2015 from 9:00 am - 10:30 pm (Monday to Thursday), and from 9:00 am to 12:00 midnight (Friday to Sunday).
