Travel The World With PENANG WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL 2014! ( 12~13 April 2014 )


Penang World Music Festival (PWMF) is back for its third installment this 12 & 13 April 2014 with 12 World-Music bands from across the globe; performing a variety of genres including folk, Balkan, Gypsy, Reggae, Tribal, Ethno Jazz and many more.

The two-day festival will be held at the famed 130-year old Penang Botanic Gardens, Penang, Malaysia.
Festival highlights include World Grammy Nominee, N’Faly Kouyate’ from West Africa and Belgium, also known as “Jimmy Hendrix of the Kora”, For fans of the Spanish Flamenco, look out for guitar virtuoso Davila Trio from France and Spain. Famed vocalist and actress from Poland , Ewa Konstancja will also be performing at the festival with her band Ewa Konstancja Bulhak & Ple Ple Band.
Other international bands that will be performing includes reggae group Carlos Dje Dje & The Protecters from South Africa, Alvorada Pé Vermei from Minas Gerais in Brazil; tribal drummers, Dollu Kunita and Kachi Ghodi Horse-Dance from India; traditional Malay flute and Rebana players, Mohram from Malaysia; Bulgara from Bulgaria; and traditional musicians OXUS from Uzbekistan. The festival will also highlight musicians and dancers from Penang.
PWMF 2014 on both days begins from 2.00pm with art and music workshops followed by the main concert from 6.00pm onwards. There will also be a festival bazaar on site offering a wide selection of food and beverages, souvenir items, handicrafts and the performers’ CDs especially for festival-goers.
