KUALA TERENGGANU, March 13 (Bernama) -- The Kenyir Lake International Triathlon (KLIT 2014) scheduled on Sunday has attracted 446 participants from 23 countries.
The triathlon organised by the Development Authority of Terengganu Tengah (KETENGAH) will offer RM55,000 as total prize money said KETENGAH general manager Wan Mat Amin Wan Daud.
Wan Mat said triathletes from Australia, Belgium, Brunei, China, Venezuela, Ireland, France, Myanmar, Singapore, New Zealand, Denmark, India, Spain, Thailand and the United Kingdom had confirmed their participation.
"KLIT 2014 is an annual event held since 2005 by KETENGAH with the cooperation of the state government and the relevant government departments. The international event is also part of the 'sports tourism' initiative listed under the Terengganu Tourism Activities calendar for 2014 and in conjunction with Vist Malaysia Year," he said in a statement here today.
Participants are required to swim 1.6km, cycle 45km and run 11km to complete the race.
