The retail offering with more than 30 new stores includes brands like Sacoor Brothers, La Martina, Hackett, Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren, and Jo Malone, which are making their debut in Malaysia.
Fashion Avenue features a mix of high fashion with designer wear, shoes, bags, accessories, timepieces, beauty and personal care from Armani Jeans, Longines, Luxenter, AESOP to Jo Malone. A range of F&B outlets for urbanites to relax in are also part of Fashion Avenue.
This addition complement the six other precincts in the mall — Couture Pavilion (home to luxury and designer boutiques), Connection (the hub for leisure and chill-out sessions), Seventh Heaven (beauty and wellness sanctuary for men and women), Tokyo Street (a unique retail experience celebrating Japanese food, arts and culture) Gourmet Emporium (host of culinary delights) and Centre Court (heart of Pavilion). Visitors can also enter using a dedicated entrance from Jalan Raja Chulan using taxis and tour buses.
Fashion Avenue was officially launched by Pavilion REIT management executive director Datuk Lee Tuck Fook, Pavilion REIT chief executive officer Philip Ho and Pavilion KL chief executive officer retail Joyce Yap in glitzy and glamourous event with a fashion show recently. During the interview, Lee mentioned that this was part of their new chapter to meet the demands of the people.
“There are 30 million visitors every year and we seek to create a unique experience. It is part of the continuous evolution to attract visitors right in the heart of Bukit Bintang,” he said. Meanwhile, according to Yap they had spent RM13.5mil to extend and make space for Fashion Avenue. She said it was money well spent as they always believe in doing things properly.
“We have designed it in such a way that you don’t have to walk far for what you want in the mall. We have 3.2mil traffic a month, so with the new addition we expect an increase of 10% including sales for all the retails.
“We get about 30% of tourist, therefore we don’t want to copy others. Urbanites are aware of the brands so we if we can help them by bringing the brands here, people won’t have to go overseas and we can help boost our economy. What we are offering is quality affordable luxury with a nice ambience. It is a trendy area with more F&B areas as well to complement the retail experience,” she said.
With denim being the “in” thing, Yap added they have looked at the market and what Malaysian want. “You will see a mix of tenants but everything will be relevant to the whole spectrum. We have expansion plans over the next two to three years,” she said.
