DRIVE M7 SIC Racing Team Determined To Raise Their Game In Barcelona

Barcelona - Catalunya, Spain – Monday 30th May
Circuit: Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
Circuit Length: 4.7 km

Determined to raise their game and return to good form, the DRIVE M7 SIC Racing Team head to Barcelona focussed and motivated for a strong result at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend.
Following a useful test at the Catalan Circuit earlier in the year, Jakub Kornfeil is fully optimistic that his Honda NSF 250RW will be the key to turning around his previous struggles around the 4.7km track. Continuing to adjust and progress on his new machinery, the Czech rider is quietly confident that with the knowledge and experience he has gained so far, he can make the next step on board his #84 machine.
Happy to be returning to a circuit he knows well, Malaysian rookie Adam Norrodin is excited to get back on track and prove his ability within the Moto3 field. Learning at every round the seventeen year old is keen to show his potential and improve his performance with a solid result in Barcelona.
#84 Jakub Kornfeil
“I’m feeling good about this next GP in Barcelona. We didn’t make such a strong race in Mugello but anyway we were very close and finished in the first group, which is always good. We know what our problem was, so we just have to stay calm, focus and do our best. Personally I don’t like the Catalunya track so much but I think the Honda is good there. We’ve had a test in Barcelona already this year, which was useful and will be helpful for the race weekend. We are more or less prepared, we just have to work hard as always and concentrate on making progress from the start.”
#7 Adam Norrodin
“I really like the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the track is so nice to ride! I’m happy to be going back to a circuit that I already know so I can just focus on my riding. We had a test in Barcelona not long ago and it went well, so I’m really looking forward to this GP. I know from my mistake in Italy that I need to change my riding style and this is what I will be working on in Barcelona. It’s also important for me to be a little more focussed throughout the weekend and not to stress so much. I was disappointed about my race at Mugello so in Barcelona I hope to make a better race and do a good result before I head back to Malaysia. I will try to push harder and make the step closer to the front. I will work hard from the beginning to improve.”

Luxury Hotels To Draw High End Tourists To Langkawi - Najib

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak observing The St Regis, the new luxury hotel built in Langkawi
to be officially launched by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah
on Sunday night
LANGKAWI, May 29 (Bernama) -- Opening up luxury hotels such as The St Regis Langkawi is a strategy to boost the reputation of the island resort particularly among upmarket tourists, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak here.

He said Langkawi Island would become more internationally known through other developments to follow.

"What we have not been able to do is bring upmarket or premium tourists to Langkawi. When we can do so, we will get more high paying jobs and more demand for handicrafts," he said.

He told reporters this after a brief visit to The St Regis Langkawi hotel which would be opened by Yang Dipertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.

The prime minister said the six star hotel would lead to more tourism infrastructures to cater to high-income tourists.

Najib said the government also planned to increase the number of direct flights to Langkawi as an added measure to draw in more tourists to the island.

He said there was currently only one direct international flight, from Guangzhou, China and that more direct flights would put Langkawi on the world tourism map.

According to him, the opening of the The St Regis Langkawi also symbolised the successful cooperation between the government and private sector and the close relations between the Malaysian and Indonesian governments.

"The result, this hotel was completed in 19 months. This is a record in terms of government and private sector cooperation which enabled the successful completion of project of international standard and on budget," he said.

The St Regis Langkawi is a joint venture between Malaysia's Finance Ministry through the Ministry of Finance Incorporated and Rajawali Group, an Indonesian conglomerate.

Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, Rajawali Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Peter Sandakh accompanied the prime minister during the visit.

PULAU PINANG, 30 May 2016International and local amateur golfers are all geared up to compete in the third qualifying round of the World Amateur Inter Team Golf Championship (WAITGC) 2016 in Pulau Pinang.

Teams from Australia, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia are participating in the four-day event, which kicked off today at the Penang Golf Club and Bukit Jawi Golf Resort.

The Bukit Jambul Country Club (BJCC) officially change its name to the Penang Golf Club following the outsourcing of its management and operations to Japanese investor company Taiyo Resort (KL) Bhd. Situated on a hilltop, Penang Golf Club provides a stunning panoramic view of the island, overseeing the impressive 13km Penang Bridge. Its stunning 18 hole 5,763 meter, par 72 golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Probably the most famous is the 10th hole with its tee box perched 100 feet above the fairway on the valley floor.

The second qualifying round will continue at the Bukit Jawi Golf Resort, a superb year-round golfing paradise set amidst a picturesque setting with lush tropical greenery. Strategically situated in Sungai Bakap, just off North-South Expressway (PLUS) Jawi interchange, it is a mere 30 minutes away from Penang island. The fairways and tee boxes are carpeted with Zoysia Matrella and the greens are covered with Bermuda Tifdwarf.

The fourth qualifying round of WAITGC 2016 will take place in Kuala Lumpur in August. After Kuala Lumpur, the last qualifying round will take place at two different golf courses in Sarawak.

Golf tourism has been identified as one of the key priority projects to increase the nation’s tourism contribution to the economy, and has in fact been underscored in the country’s Economic Transformation Programme (ETP). Last year, golf tourism receipts amounted to RM319 million, a significant contribution to Malaysia’s economy.

Since its debut in 1994, WAITGC has emerged as one of the most highly anticipated golfing events in the region. Organised by Tourism Malaysia, it attracts more than 500 participants every year. The homegrown event not only tests the golfing skills of the participants but also encourages them to discover the many colourful cultures and traditions in Malaysia, as well as the country’s delectable cuisines and fascinating tourist attractions.
