Super Treat For Fans With Bumper Programme For Final Round

SEPANG, 30 NOVEMBER 2016 – The Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) and the Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) – the country’s national championships for track racing – closes its 2016 season this weekend, offering a super treat for motorsports fans with a bumper programme that combines both car and bike competitions over the three-day weekend from 2 to 4 December 2016.

While the MSBK riders will be competing in four races to complete the fourth and fifth rounds of the two-wheel championship, drivers in the MCS will face a different kind of challenge as they face each other for the first time in an endurance race of 300 kilometres.

To add further excitement to the contest, championship points won in Sunday’s MCS endurance race will be doubled, which effectively throws the fight for the overall title wide open amongst the championship leaders in the Touring Production and Malaysia Touring Car categories.

It also calls for some adjustment in strategy for teams that had opted to use only one driver in the previous three rounds. They are now faced with the choice of adding a second driver or to simply use the same single driver to compete in the entire 300km race, amounting to 55 laps around the 5.543km track.

One of the teams with this dilemma is the Sakura Tedco Racing Team, which leads the table in both classes. Its drivers, Indonesian Fitra Eri and Malaysian Mark Darwin top the Touring Production and MTC championships respectively.

A decision to combine Eri and Darwin – who are also regular partners for the Sepang 1000km Endurance Race, in either class will jeopardise the team’s pre-season target of winning both championship classes, as both drivers have yet to secure unassailable leads in their respective championships.

Darwin – winner of the Touring Production class last season, has garnered 78 points over the season’s three rounds and holds a 23-point advantage over second-placed Nick Mah, who has 55 points. Goh Lee Heng is third with 42 points and is out of the championship battle.

With a total of 67.5 championship points, Eri has an even slimmer lead in the Touring Production class with the partnership of Abdul Kaathir and Lai Wee Sing of R Engineering just 10.5 points behind, on 57 points. Mitchell Cheah of N1 Racing is third with 44 points and could still deny Sakura Tedco Racing their second consecutive Touring Production crown.

Asked on the strategy for the final round, both Eri and Darwin said that the team has yet to make its decision on how to approach the race this weekend.

“It will be a team decision and we will abide by that decision. In any case, our target remains the same, which is to win the races that we compete in. The team will provide updates later as we draw closer to the race,” Darwin said.

For the MSBK, all competitors will have their free practice and qualifying sessions on Friday with races on Saturday and Sunday to complete their 2016 season.

With four races to contend with, riders will naturally need to approach their races more cautiously, especially in Saturday’s Round 4 races.

Fans can catch all the action for free from the Main Grandstand. To get closer to the action, fans can purchase Paddock passes at the paddock entrance during the event days.

Kempen Bikers Bebas Dadah 2016
The action won’t be confined to the track, as the Kempen Bikers Bebas Dadah 2016 is also being co-organised by SIC and Brandteam Holdings in conjunction with the MSBK. Offering fans an exciting programme line-up, a 3-day ticket is available for only RM19 for adults, while fans aged 17 and below can enter for free.

Ticket holders can enjoy the race from the Main Grandstand and K1 Grandstand, watch the Bikers Bebas Dadah concert and have the opportunity to win attractive prizes in the daily lucky draw, offering a 150cc motorcycle as the Grand Prize. The concert, taking place at 830pm on 3 December, features the Bloodshed rock band, Aris Ariwatan, Daisy Idle Band and Kombat & Pilgrims.

A portion of the ticket proceeds will be donated to charity. All ticket holders can also enjoy free parking.

Direct Travel Between Ampang And Sentul Timur From Thursday

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 November – Beginning Thursday (December 1), commuters traveling on Rapid KL LRT Ampang Line can travel directly from Ampang station to Sentul Timur without needing to change train at Chan Sow Lin station any more.

The direct travel has been made possible following completion in the upgrading of the signaling system, or technically termed as the Communication - Based Train Control (CBTC), for the entire Ampang and Sri Petaling Line for usage of the new six-car AMY trains.

“Beginning December 1, the entire Sri Petaling and Ampang Lines will also be using the new six-car AMY trains. The Adtranz trains that had been used since 1996 and serving the Ampang Line now, will be completely decommissioned,” Rapid Rail CEO, Dato’ Ir. Zohari Sulaiman said in a statement today.

A subsidiary of Prasarana, Rapid Rail is the operator of Rapid KL’s LRT Ampang Line, LRT Sri Petaling Line, LRT Kelana Jaya Line, the Monorail Line and the MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang Line, which will open its Phase 1 between Sungai Buloh and Semantan on December 16.

Prasarana has acquired a total of 50 new six-car trains from CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive, China to serve the LRT Ampang and Sri Petaling Lines including the 11 new stations built under the LRT Line Extension Project (LEP). To-date, forty five train sets have already been delivered to Rapid Rail with the remaining five sets currently being assembled at CRRC plant in Batu Gajah, Perak and due for delivery in stages by January next year.

The new six-car AMY trains were introduced into service in stages with the first batch in October last year to serve the first stretch of LEP alignment covering the first four new stations – Awan Besar, Muhibbah, Alam Sutera and Kinrara BK5 to Sri Petaling station where commuters needed to switch trains in continuing their journey. The services of the AMY trains were extended to IOI Puchong Jaya, Pusat Bandar Puchong, Taman Perindustrian Puchong and Bandar Puteri stations from March 31.

With the full opening of the LEP on June 30 this year, the new AMY trains serviced the entire stretch of extended LRT alignment up to Sri Petaling station before being extended further to cover the entire alignment until Sentul Timur in July after completion of the CBTC for the Sri Petaling Line. The route for Ampang Line was then restructured to cover only between Ampang and Chan Sow Lin stations; and had used the Adtranz train sets while CBTC upgrading is being undertaken.

Zohari said: “We are happy to announce that the system has now being upgraded to cover the stretch between Ampang and Chan Sow Lin stations to facilitate movement of the new AMY trains directly to Ampang station.
“Until we have all 50 new trains, we would be working with a frequency of 6 minutes for trains between Chan Sow Lin to Ampang and to Putra Heights. With the trains moving alternately after and until Chan Sow Lin, the frequency within the city from Chan Sow Lin will be three only minutes.

“Naturally, we aim to reduce the waiting time further when we have all 50 new trains next year,” he said, adding that Rapid Rail would be continually provide updates for its customers.

Hafizh Syahrin To Compete In Pirelli Malaysia Superbike Championship

SEPANG, 28 November 2016 – Malaysia’s Moto2 star Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah will put his superbike skills to the test this weekend as he takes up an offer from Project X Racing Team to compete in the season-ender of the Pirelli Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) on 2 to 4 December 2016.

The 22-year old rider from Ampang, Selangor, who finished 9th overall in the 600cc  Moto2 world championship this year, riding for Team Petronas Raceline Malaysia, will be competing in the 1000cc Superbike Open class on a Yamaha R1.

“I would like to thank Project X Racing Team for providing this opportunity. I am  targeting to keep myself fit and in top competitive form in this period, with the  MotoGP season already over and testing only allowed beginning March next year,”  Hafizh shared.

“It will also be good for me to further enhance my familarisation with the Sepang  track. We race in Sepang every year, although it was different this year as the  whole track had been resurfaced. Hence, I will take this opportunity to learn more  about the fresh Sepang track,” said Hafizh, who finished fifth in this year’s Moto2  race in Sepang.

Despite his deep knowledge of the Sepang track, the Malaysian race was not his  best result for the 2016 season, as the Malaysian had finished fourth on three  occasions this year, at the Qatar, Catalunya and British MotoGP events.

Despite his international experience, Hafizh was quick to point out that he would not  be the main favourite for this weekend’s race, saying that the competition level of  the MSBK is high, especially with the participation of world class riders.

“For me, Cameron Donald would definitely be the favourite. He is very experienced,  having won the Isle of Mann TT race. He is also a former Australian superbike  champion. We also have top local riders in the race, with the likes of Ahmad Fuad  Baharuddin, who had competed in the Malaysian Super Series, the Malaysian Cub  Prix and the Asia Road Racing Championship,” Hafizh said.

“We must also always take the weather into consideration, and have the mind-set  that anything is possible. I foresee a very exciting race this weekend. I am looking  forward to enjoying the races and hope Malaysian fans can join us at Sepang as  well to enjoy the weekend,” he added.

Unlike the previous rounds, this weekend will feature the concluding Rounds 4 and  5 on the same weekend. Free practice and qualifying for all categories – Superbike,  Superstock, Supersport and the Production 250 classes will be held on Friday.  Saturday will feature two races for Round 4 and Sunday will stage the final two races of the season for all categories for Round 5.

The adrenaline will be surging in Sepang this weekend as the final round of the Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) for cars is also taking place. The drivers, who are from the Touring Production and Malaysian Touring Car categories, will compete in a 300km endurance race to close the 2016 season.

Fans can catch all the action for free from the Main Grandstand. To get closer to the action, fans can purchase Paddock passes at the paddock entrance during the event days.

sumber: http://thhotels.com.my/

Pengarah Urusan Kumpulan TH Hotel, Datuk Yasmin Tan Sri Mohd.

Semua asas, garis panduan TH Hotel berkonsepkan syariah
Amalkan konsep 3K iaitu Kemudahan, Keselesaan, Keyakinan
Pengguna boleh menggunakan kemudahan tanpa rasa was-was

Lokasi:
Terletak berhampiran lapangan terbang
Bertindak sebagai ‘pintu pertama’ menyambut pelancong dan ‘pintu terakhir’ mengucapkan selamat tinggal

Kitaran:
Pelanggan secara tidak langsung menyokong pembangunan Islam

MATTA goes on sales mission drive in India, Sri Lanka

The Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA) has embarked on targeted sales missions to India in a bid to reverse declining arrivals from the market.

Following its earlier sales mission to Bengaluru and Chennai in August, MATTA inbound vice president, Tan Kok Liang, will lead a delegation of 10 agents in the upcoming mission to Kochi and Colombo from November 30 to December 3.

The association is planning more roadshows in 2017, starting with Nepal and Delhi in February, then Calcutta and Mumbai in June, Chennai and Bengaluru in August, before ending in Cochin and Colombo in December, according to exco member for India, Ganneesh Ramaa.

Ganneesh commented: “India has always been among the top 10 (feeder) markets for Malaysia. However, with growing competition from other countries, we have to work hard and cannot merely rely on Tourism Malaysia (to) reverse the negative trend.

Shanti Devi, operation manager at Asian World Holidays, said the earlier sales mission in August had proven useful for acquiring sales leads from new agents and offered more focused opportunities to seek out Indian agents with an interest in selling the destination.

Gopalan Mariappan, director and owner at Sanbury Travel, who will be participating in the upcoming mission to Cochin and Colombo, also sees value in face-to-face meetings with agents. "It is also an opportunity for us to update agents on new attractions and packages, which will help them promote the destination better to their clients," he elaborated.

According to statistics from Tourism Malaysia, arrivals from India dropped 6.2 per cent to 722,141 in 2015. The decline continued into 1H2016 with a five per cent fall in visitors from the corresponding period in 2015.

Johor Sultan launches charity golf tournament, new golf course

KOTA TINGGI: The Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar officially launched the Laksamana Trophy Charity Golf Tournament 2016 at the ELS Desaru Coast-Ocean Course here this morning.

The ruler's son, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim, was first to tee off at 7.30am.

Tunku Abdul Rahman is also the patron of the Johor Golf Tourism Association (JGTA), the organiser of the tournament, which aims to raise RM1.5million for the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation.

Sultan Ibrahim also opened the newly-completed ELS Desaru Coast-Ocean Course, a 27-hole golf course.

JGTA president Colonel (R) Mohd Jamal Salleh said the tournament has received an overwhelming response from corporate sponsors, who are participating as part of their corporate social responsibility efforts.

"Aside from raising funds for the charity, the players are also vying for the coveted Tunku Laksamana Trophy," he said.

Marine parks raise fees for foreigners

PETALING JAYA: Foreign tourists visiting marine parks in the country will have to pay higher entrance fees from January while charges will also be imposed on dive operators and film crews.
Under the new Marine Park Conservation Fee structure, foreign tourists will be charged RM30 for adults and RM15 for both senior citizens and children.
The fees for locals remain at RM5 for adults and RM2 for children.
For activities like research, camping and commercial or documentary filming, as well as visits by dive operators and owners of private yachts, the fees will range from RM10 to RM500.
According to a Marine Park Department official, exceptions were made for those living on islands near the parks.
The fees, which go to a trust fund, are used to manage and maintain the parks.
Reef Check Malaysia general manager Julian Hyde said it supported the new fees if these were used for conserving, upgrading and maintaining the facilities at these parks, as well as for enhancing public awareness on the need to care for the reefs.
“For foreign tourists, they have already spent thousands on a plane ticket to Malaysia. What’s a bit more for entrance to the marine parks?” he asked, pointing out it would only cost foreigners about US$6.60.
Reef Check, said Hyde, was also in support of having dive operators pay RM150 monthly.
“Currently, they don’t pay anything but are using the assets for free for their business. We feel that they should pay fees,” he said, adding that dive operators were generally in support of this.
But Malaysian Scuba Diving Association president Amin Mustapah said the department should put new rates on hold because these would burden the operators who may then pass on the extra cost to visitors.
“Furthermore, it is Visit Terengganu Year next year. Dive tourism is booming in Malaysia and these tourists may opt for Thailand, Indonesia or the Philippines if they feel the pinch,” he said.
He said the parks should find ways to bring in more visitors instead of imposing an unnecessary burden on dive operators.
“This is like putting sand in their rice bowl. As it is, we are already struggling to attract visitors. Now we are burdened with extra charges,” Amin said.

KANGAR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- The Perlis government has decided for 2020 to be 'Visit Perlis Year', which would be implemented on a large scale.

Tourism Malaysia, Perlis branch director Razaidi Abd Rahim said the decision was made at a state Tourism Council meeting recently.

"We will use various platforms to promote Perlis aggressively including abroad in the next three years," he told reporters at a hi-tea with media practitioners in the state yesterday.

Razaidi said aspects to be given attention in wooing visitors include service quality, accommodation and food as well as introduction of exciting programmes throughout the year.

He said the main programmes, East Wind Festival, International Marathon and Kuala Perlis Water Festival would be enhanced and organised on a larger scale.

Homestays at Paya Guring, Felda Mata and Ujung Bukit which are registerd with the agency would be given allocation for upgrading and improvement.

Homestays which are not registered but fulfilled the criteria would be encouraged to sign up with the agency so that assistance could be channeled to them as well, he said.

Meanwhile, he described the media as a close friend and a "bell" for Tourism Malaysia, as its role in this context is to disseminate information on activities and efforts by the agency to develop the industry.

Positive first test for Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 project

11/17/2016 - Jerez Circuit, Spain

The first test for the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 team concluded this Thursday at the Jerez Circuit, with positive data gathered for the rest of the 2017 preseason. Just as they did on Wednesday, Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder followed different workplans, but both improved their feelings with a new machine that has provided improvement day by day and has great potential.

Miguel Oliveira's year of experience in Moto2 has helped the entire team to take important steps forward with each hour of testing. Good weather conditions at Jerez allowed the Portuguese to put in some 66 laps, including the first laps for the KTM with soft tyre compounds at this track.

Brad Binder continued with his adaptation to the class, completing 85 laps of the Andalusian track with a bike he is finding enjoyable to ride –although which he admits he needs more days to understand.

Work for the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 project will continue next week in Valencia.

Aki Ajo - Team Manager
"We are very excited to be starting this project in Moto2 with the new KTM. It is clear that we are only at the beginning and it is important to carry out many tests. After these first two days, we already have information, in this case at a circuit that is not easy. I think we have started very well and it is very important to also get a lot of data from a track as different as Valencia is. Binder and Oliveira have done a great job. For Brad it was the first test in Moto2 so it's a big challenge. Miguel showed his great professionalism and has done very consistent work. I thank them both and the team for this good start."

#41 Brad Binder
"These two days of testing at Jerez have been very fun, and I have really enjoyed riding. I have tried to fully understand how to ride this Moto2 bike and I have had a great time. I have begun to notice improvements and find the way to go, but I know I will need many laps to understand it 100%. It was strange, because after a few consecutive laps I set a good time, but after going through the pits, I couldn’t understand how I had been able to get it. I just need to keep working hard and little by little everything will go better."

#44 Miguel Oliveira
"Today we once again had many good hours on the track. This is the first time that KTM have been able to run the soft tyres at this track, so it has been a challenge since we had no previous reference; this is what prevented us from being able to go a little faster with new tyres. In any case, the day has been very positive because we have identified where we can improve the bike. This KTM Moto2 bike has a lot of potential! We are happy with these first two days of testing."
