Malaysia Destination Seminar In Conjunction With Visit Malaysia 2026 (Vm2026) At Istanbul

 

ISTANBUL, 20 November 2025 – The Consulate General of Malaysia in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia Istanbul organised the Malaysia Destination Seminar in conjunction with the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign at the Fairmont Quasar Istanbul Hotel, Türkiye. This event provides an excellent opportunity for Tourism Malaysia to explore potential collaborations with Turkish industry players in promoting Malaysia as a premier travel destination for the market. 

The event brought together key players from the travel and tourism industry, including outbound tour operators, travel agents, airlines, media representatives, influencers, and members of the Malaysian diaspora. It served as a dynamic platform for participants to exchange insights, discuss emerging travel trends, and explore new avenues in expanding tourism between Malaysia and Türkiye. 

The event was officiated by His Excellency Mr. Ahmad Amiri Abu Bakar, Consul General of Malaysia to Istanbul, who acknowledged the strong turnout and reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to fostering closer people-to-people and industry-to-industry connections. He also highlighted the shared values and mutual aspirations that continue to strengthen the friendship and tourism cooperation between both nations. 

Malaysia and Türkiye share a rich tapestry of historical, cultural, and economic ties. With growing flight connectivity and mutual interest in both leisure with business travel, VM2026 seeks to further enhance these bonds by offering tailored travel experiences for Turkish travellers to Malaysia. 

His Excellency, Mr Ahmad Amiri Abu Bakar, the Consul General of Malaysia to Istanbul, stated, “Türkiye is a vital market for Malaysia’s tourism growth. We are excited to invite our Turkish friends to explore Malaysia’s vibrant cities, lush rainforests, pristine beaches, and diverse cultural heritage, especially to celebrate the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).” 

Tourism Malaysia welcomed outbound tourism industry players, airlines, and media in Türkiye to collaborate on promoting Malaysia’s travel packages through a targeted campaign. This initiative will be supported through a cost-sharing partnership, leveraging both digital platforms and traditional advertising. As part of the campaign, Tourism Malaysia will also engage prominent Turkish influencers and content creators to experience Malaysia firsthand and showcase the country’s unique offerings. 

From January to August 2025, Malaysia recorded 25,698 Turkish visitors travelled to Malaysia, representing a growth of 31.8% compared to the same period last year. This figure represents the highest number of Turkish arrivals since the past 15 years. Tourism Malaysia anticipates the number of visitors from Türkiye travelling to Malaysia will reach 30,000 by the end of this year. 

Looking ahead to Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), Tourism Malaysia aims to further elevate the country’s global tourism presence, targeting 47 million international visitor arrivals through continuous innovation and collaborative efforts.

Visit Malaysia Year 2026 Launch In Rome

 

ITALY, 19 November 2025 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Italy hosted the launch of Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2026, welcoming 12 media representatives, 10 tour operators, and 30 travel agents. The event marked a key step in strengthening Malaysia’s presence in the Italian market.

The campaign theme “Surreal Experiences” and the new mascots Wira and Manja, inspired by the Malayan sun bear, were unveiled as symbols of Malaysia’s biodiversity and cultural richness. VMY 2026 aims to reach 35.6 million international arrivals and generate 147.1 billion ringgit (approx. €50 billion) in tourism revenue.

H.E. Dato’ Zahid Rastam, Ambassador of Malaysia to Italy, underlined the strong bilateral relations and the rapid growth of Italian arrivals, expected to surpass 80,000 visitors in 2025. Director of Tourism Malaysia Paris, highlighted the essential role of media and trade in inspiring future travellers.

Key travel updates included visa-free entry for Italians (with mandatory Malaysian Digital Arrival Card), connections via 20 airlines, and destination highlights spanning Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Penang, the East Coast islands, Sabah, and Malaysia’s ancient rainforests.

A lucky draw, supported by industry partners, concluded the evening, offering prizes including Turkish Airlines flight tickets and hotel stays at Bubu Resort, The Lisbon Hotel Melaka, The Taaras, and Gaya Island Resort.

Malaysia looks forward to welcoming a record number of Italian travellers in 2026 as VMY kicks off globally.

Tahun Melawat Malaysia 2026 dijangka lonjak sektor pembuatan domestik

 

KUALA LUMPUR: Sektor pembuatan berorientasikan domestik dijangka menerima suntikan baharu menjelang Tahun Melawat Malaysia 2026 (TMM 2026), walaupun industri eksport negara terus berdepan cabaran ketidaktentuan global. 

Ahli Ekonomi Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd, Farah Zazreen Zainudin, berkata sokongan permintaan itu dijangka mengimbangi kelemahan yang masih dialami oleh sebahagian segmen eksport negara, dengan prospek pembuatan domestik lebih positif. 

Katanya, ia turut disokong sektor pelancongan yang bakal mencetus kesan berganda terhadap perbelanjaan pengguna dan aktiviti rantaian bekalan tempatan. 

"Pemulihan permintaan domestik dijangka menjadi penampan penting kepada kelemahan pesanan luar, terutama apabila aktiviti pelancongan meningkat sempena TMM 2026," katanya dalam nota penyelidikan.

Farah Zazreen berkata, sentimen pembuatan ketika ini masih dipengaruhi oleh penilaian berhati-hati terhadap risiko luaran dan domestik, termasuk kos input yang tinggi serta ketidaktentuan geopolitik. 

Namun, katanya, peningkatan perbelanjaan pelancong mampu membantu menghidupkan semula segmen yang berkaitan langsung dengan penggunaan seperti makanan dan minuman, barangan pengguna serta produk kraftangan.

Bank Islam turut memetik perkembangan di Thailand sebagai penanda aras serantau, di mana negara itu mencatat PMI pembuatan 56.6 pada Oktober 2025, bacaan tertinggi sejak Mei 2023. 

Beliau menjelaskan, peningkatan tersebut sebahagian besarnya digerakkan oleh permintaan domestik yang kukuh, walaupun pesanan eksport Thailand kekal lemah. 

Katanya, prestasi Thailand membuktikan permintaan dalam negeri mampu menjadi enjin pertumbuhan yang penting bagi sektor pembuatan, terutama bagi negara yang mempunyai asas pelancongan besar. 

"Malaysia juga berada pada kedudukan sama apabila penganjuran TMM 2026 dijangka merancakkan rantaian industri tempatan merentas pengeluaran makanan, peruncitan, produk kraftangan dan perkhidmatan berkaitan pelancongan," katanya. 

Nota penyelidikan Bank Islam itu turut mengingatkan Malaysia mempunyai nisbah perdagangan kepada keluaran dalam negara kasar (KDNK) tertinggi dalam kalangan ASEAN-5 iaitu 137.4 peratus pada 2024, menandakan kebergantungan tinggi negara kepada persekitaran luaran. 

Justeru, katanya, sebarang kejutan perdagangan global memberi kesan ketara kepada sentimen pengilang walaupun permintaan sebenar dalam negara kekal stabil. 

Farah Zazreen menjelaskan, percanggahan antara Indeks Pengurus Pembelian (PMI) pembuatan yang kekal di bawah paras 50 dan data eksport serta Indeks Pengeluaran Perindustrian (IPI) yang sebenarnya kukuh adalah disebabkan perbezaan metodologi. 

PMI adalah data tinjauan berasaskan sentimen, manakala eksport serta IPI adalah data sebenar yang mencerminkan pengeluaran dan penghantaran fizikal. 

Menurut beliau, pengilang mungkin melaporkan bacaan PMI yang lemah disebabkan tekanan kos dan jangkaan risiko, walaupun kilang sebenarnya beroperasi pada kapasiti yang lebih aktif. 

"PMI mencerminkan persepsi dan jangkaan masa hadapan. Dalam persekitaran global yang tidak menentu, pengilang sering mengambil pendekatan lebih berhati-hati walaupun data pengeluaran dan eksport menunjukkan pertumbuhan kukuh," katanya. 

Segmen Elektrik dan Elektronik (E&E) terus mendominasi eksport, menyumbang lebih 40 peratus daripada keseluruhan penghantaran pembuatan. 

"Walaupun terdapat sedikit ketinggalan antara jualan semikonduktor global dan eksport E&E Malaysia, trend pengukuhan teknologi global kekal menjadi penyokong utama prestasi sektor itu," katanya. 

Bank Islam menjelaskan prestasi baik sektor E&E kadangkala 'menyembunyikan' kelemahan yang dialami oleh pengilang kecil dan sederhana dalam industri lain, menyebabkan bacaan PMI kekal lemah walaupun angka eksport tumbuh kukuh. 

"Ini turut menjejaskan sentimen keseluruhan pengilang yang lebih sensitif kepada kos dan permintaan domestik. Selain itu, faktor kos input dan margin keuntungan yang terjejas turut mempengaruhi perasaan berhati-hati dalam kalangan pengilang," katanya. 

Farah Zazreen berkata pengeluar mungkin mengekang pengambilan pekerja atau pesanan baharu meskipun permintaan sebenar menunjukkan peningkatan, menyebabkan bacaan PMI kekal rendah. 

"Dalam konteks ini, penganjuran TMM 2026 dilihat sebagai peluang untuk memulihkan keyakinan pengilang, terutamanya mereka yang bergantung kepada tahap penggunaan domestik. Sektor seperti makanan diproses, barangan pengguna, tekstil, perabot dan produk logam ringan berpotensi mencatat peningkatan pengeluaran apabila permintaan pelancong meningkat," katanya. 

Beliau berkata, Malaysia berpotensi mengikuti prestasi Thailand, terutama jika permintaan domestik terus dipacu oleh pelancongan sambil sektor eksport mengekalkan trajektori positif. 

"TMM 2026 boleh menjadi pemangkin utama untuk mengimbangi risiko luaran, dengan permintaan domestik berperanan menyokong pengeluaran di kilang," katanya.

Perak gears up for VM2026 with major tourism overhaul

 

KUALA LUMPUR: The Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak (PKNPk) Group is spearheading a major phase of tourism development ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), focusing on the restoration of key state assets, operational restructuring, and the introduction of innovative tourism experiences. 

According to PKNPk, the initiative aligns with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan and the state government's goal of positioning Perak as a leading regional tourism destination. 

The group has earmarked about RM5.5 million to enhance key attractions across the state. PKNPk said that revitalising state-owned tourism assets is central to strengthening Perak's tourism ecosystem and stimulating local economic growth. 

The programme also aims to boost industry confidence while systematically addressing post-pandemic challenges in a transparent manner. 

Among the projects is the restoration of Casuarina Houseboat @ Temenggor 1, which ceased operation since July 2024 due to technical issues. A contractor has been appointed to carry out engine and structural repairs, with completion expected by December 2025. Full operations are projected to resume by February 2026, contributing to the revitalisation of Belum-Temenggor's ecotourism sector ahead of VM2026. 

On Pangkor Island, Hotel Casuarina@Pangkor is undergoing extensive rebranding and redevelopment.

The temporary closure allows for an integrated upgrading plan, including the introduction of over-water Water Villas, which complements the Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC) development. Construction is slated to begin in early 2028, with completion expected in 2030. 

Meanwhile, the royal cruise vessel Balai Gambang Cempaka Sari has resumed operations following restoration, enhancing river tourism and reviving Perak's royal heritage. 

Beyond hospitality, PKNPk is strengthening community infrastructure and heritage preservation in Bandar Meru Raya. 

Casuarina Hotel@Meru and Casuarina Convention Centre remain central to hosting government programmes, corporate events, and community activities. 

Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah has been upgraded with smart solar streetlights and hosts the state's longest Ramadan Bazaar, benefiting over 100 local SMEs. 

Traditional Malay houses in Meru Raya are also being restored as entrepreneurship hubs or restaurants, set to open in early 2026. 

Through Majuperak Holdings Bhd, PKNPk continues to expand ecotourism development, managing key assets such as Tasik Cermin. 

In Teluk Batik, a modern 29-unit resort is planned, with construction set to begin in mid-2026 to cater to the growing Manjung district. 

PKNPk said that these efforts represent a large-scale, phased, and data-driven strategy to transform state assets into sustainable economic drivers.

Tourism Malaysia is organising a Familiarisation Trip in collaboration with Oman Air, featuring leading influencers from the Oman market from 12 to 20 November 2025.

A total of eight Omani influencers will participate in this programme, which includes curated visits to Sabah and Perak. The famtrip aims to highlight Malaysia’s diverse tourism offerings — spanning cultural heritage, gastronomy, adventure, and natural attractions — across both states.

The programme also features a networking session among the influencers in Sunway Resort Hotel, providing a platform for them to exchange insights, share creative perspectives, and strengthen collaborative opportunities that will further amplify Malaysia’s tourism appeal in the Oman market.

Welcome The Inaugural Flight Of Iran Airtour: Tehran To Kuala Lumpur

 

Tourism Malaysia is pleased to welcome the inaugural Iran Airtour direct flight from Tehran to Kuala Lumpur, which arrived at KLIA Terminal 1 on 15 November 2025.

The flight was officially received by representatives from Tourism Malaysia, Iran Airtour Malaysia and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), marking a significant milestone in strengthening air connectivity between Malaysia and Iran. Operating once weekly every Friday with a 230-seater Airbus A310, Flight B9-9774 departs Tehran (IKA) at 2000 hrs and arrives in Kuala Lumpur (KUL) at 0809 hrs.

This new service reflects Iran Airtour’s ongoing expansion into the Malaysian market and supports the nation’s strategic tourism objectives in preparation for Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

Krabi-Kuala Lumpur Direct Flight Take Off To Boost Tourism Ahead Of Visit Malaysia 2026

 

SEPANG, 17 November 2025 - Tourism Malaysia proudly celebrates the official launch of Firefly Airlines’ inaugural direct flight from Krabi to Kuala Lumpur.

Beginning 17 November 2025, Firefly Airlines will commence daily direct flights between Krabi and Kuala Lumpur, offering seamless travel access for Thai travellers to Malaysia’s vibrant capital city. The service will be operated using the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with a capacity of 189 seats per flight, to cater to the increasing travel demand between both destinations.

Tiong: Malaysia on track to welcome 47mil tourists for 2026

 

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded 24.5 million visitors between January and July this year, a 16.8 per cent increase compared with 21 million in the same period last year. 

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said visitor spending had also surged by 174 per cent, reaching RM161.9 billion. 

Citing the Tourism Satellite Account 2024 report, he said the tourism sector contributed 15.1 per cent, or RM291.9 billion, to the national gross domestic product – a 7.4 per cent increase from 2023, which saw a contribution of 14.9 per cent, or RM271.9 billion. 

"Malaysia received 38 million foreign visitors in 2024, an increase of 31.1 per cent compared with the previous year. 

"Visitor expenditure also rose by 43.7 per cent to RM106.8 billion," he said in a written parliamentary reply yesterday. 

Tiong was responding to Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden (PN–Alor Setar) regarding the country's tourism industry achievements and performance for 2024 and 2025, including international tourist arrival statistics, overall tourism sector revenue, as well as the success of major initiatives or programmes that have been implemented.

Tiong said the ministry would continue rolling out various measures to draw more tourists, encourage longer stays and boost spending, adding that these efforts had already yielded encouraging results. 

He added that the government was also prioritising improved accessibility through increased flight frequencies, alongside tourism and cultural programmes, including business events. 

"These efforts aim to achieve the target of 47 million foreign visitors and RM329 billion in tourism revenue for the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign," Tiong said.

Wyndham Garden Kuantan to open in Malaysia’s East Coast in 2026

 

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, J City Group and Trinidad Hospitality have signed a partnership to develop and manage Wyndham Garden Kuantan, J-City, a new addition to the East Coast’s hospitality landscape. 

The official signing ceremony took place at Ramada Suites by Wyndham KLCC, marking a step in the expansion of the Wyndham Garden brand across Malaysia. 

Scheduled to open in 3Q2026, the 361-room Wyndham Garden Kuantan, J-City will be the tallest building in the heart of Kuantan City, located at Jalan Merdeka. Originally converted from serviced apartments, the hotel features suites ranging from 69m² to 121m² and is situated near local attractions including Kuantan 188, East Coast Mall and Esplanade Kuantan. 

The property will include an Olympic-size infinity pool measuring 50 metres with skyline views, a gym, a multi-purpose hall for meetings and events, a jogging track, and an integrated playground within landscaped grounds.

Sebanyak 80 pempamer dari serata Malaysia telah menyertai SKCCM edisi Sabah yang terdiri daripada agensi pelancongan, pengusaha produk dan makanan warisan serta pengusaha produk-produk kraf tempatan. Acara turut dimeriahkan lagi dengan kehadiran maskot Wira dan Manja semasa majlis pelancaran dan terdapat juga aktiviti interaktif seperti kuiz Kahoot, cabutan bertuah serta persembahan dari artis tempatan Sabah yang menjadi tarikan kepada para pengunjung.

Go Malaysia Fair – Express Edition Unleashes Year-End Travel Buzz In Singapore

 

SINGAPORE, 14 November 2025 - TM Singapore participated in the highly anticipated GO Malaysia Fair and this time around it’s taking on a new and exciting version - Express edition. The fair aims to spark year-end wanderlust, further boosting the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign.

With 16 booths on display, the fair showcases a range of new hotels, attractions, and packages perfect for the upcoming year-end holiday season. TM-Singapore hosted a dedicated pavilion which featured ten renowned Malaysian operators, including newer hotel properties such as Sheraton Johor Bahru, 1001 Nights Hotel Genting Highlands, and The Lisbon Melaka while 6 booths are occupied by Singapore Travel Agents.

The GO Malaysia Fair - Express Edition takes place at Marina Square Singapore from 14 to 16 November 2025.

Pusat sehenti MM2H di TRX perkukuh daya tarikan Malaysia kepada ekspatriat

 

KUALA LUMPUR – Program Malaysia Rumah Keduaku atau Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) melangkah ke era baharu dengan pelancaran pusat sehenti pertama yang diurus sepenuhnya oleh sektor swasta di The Exchange 106, Tun Razak Exchange (TRX). 

Langkah yang diterajui STF Revenue (MM2H) Sdn. Bhd. itu mencerminkan keyakinan berterusan terhadap prospek ekonomi dan daya saing Malaysia di peringkat global.

Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya (MOTAC), Datuk Shaharuddin Abu Sohot berkata, program penempatan jangka panjang seperti MM2H memainkan peranan penting dalam merancakkan ekonomi negara.

Menurutnya, usaha menarik warga asing berkualiti untuk menetap di Malaysia bukan sahaja mengukuhkan sektor pelancongan, malah membawa limpahan ekonomi yang meluas. 

“Di bawah seliaan MOTAC, program MM2H terus memainkan peranan penting dalam menarik kedatangan ekspatriat dan pelabur asing yang ingin membina kehidupan serta peluang di Malaysia. 

“Kerangka baharu MM2H yang berperingkat, SEZ, Silver, Gold dan Platinum  memperkenalkan lebih banyak pilihan dan kejelasan kepada warganegara dunia,” katanya ketika merasmikan majlis pelancaran tersebut. 

Tambahnya, ia direka bukan sahaja untuk menarik mereka yang ingin menetap di Malaysia, tetapi juga mereka yang ingin berkembang dan melabur di sini, dalam sektor hartanah, pendidikan, penjagaan kesihatan dan pelbagai sektor lain. 

Sehingga Julai 2025, MOTAC telah merekodkan lebih 3,300 permohonan baharu bagi program MM2H, membabitkan anggaran RM300 juta dana asing serta pelaburan hartanah melebihi RM430 juta. 

Ini mencerminkan keyakinan antarabangsa dan mengukuhkan kedudukan Malaysia sebagai destinasi pilihan untuk menetap dan melabur.

Sementara itu, Pengarah Operasi Antarabangsa STF Revenue, Jonathan Low Choon Wai berkata, pusat sehenti di TRX diwujudkan bagi memudahkan proses serta memberikan pengalaman yang lebih selesa dan cekap kepada peserta program. 

“Kami mahu menjadikan pengalaman hidup di Malaysia sesuatu yang mudah, selesa dan menarik untuk pelabur, pesara dan profesional antarabangsa. 

Kehadiran kami di sini mencerminkan keyakinan terhadap negara sebagai hab gaya hidup dan pelaburan serantau,” jelasnya. 

STF Revenue (MM2H) Sdn. Bhd. merupakan anak syarikat di bawah STF Group, sebuah kumpulan korporat tempatan yang telah berkembang pesat sejak ditubuhkan pada 2016. 

Bermula sebagai penyedia perkhidmatan tenaga kerja dan pengurusan pekerja asing, STF Group kini mengurus pelbagai operasi termasuk pemutihan tenaga kerja, pengendalian asrama pekerja, perkhidmatan kebersihan, serta pembangunan sistem pengurusan berasaskan teknologi. 

Kumpulan ini turut meluaskan portfolio perniagaannya ke dalam sektor pelancongan jangka panjang menerusi lesen rasmi bagi program Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) dan Premium Visa Programme (PVIP), selain menawarkan perkhidmatan pengurusan pembantu rumah. 

Majlis tersebut turut menyaksikan pemeteraian perjanjian kerjasama strategik antara STF Revenue dan Rivertree Group. 

Pemeteraian perjanjian kerjasama melibatkan dua tokoh industri iaitu Pengarah Urusan STF Group Datuk Wira Joey Yan daripada STF Group dan Pengarah Urusan Kumpulan Rivertree Group, Datuk Simon David Leong. 

Kerjasama terbabit bakal membuka ruang baharu bagi menarik minat pembeli antarabangsa untuk melabur dalam hartanah tempatan sambil mendapatkan sokongan visa dan penempatan jangka panjang melalui STF Revenue. 

Datuk Simon berkata, mereka ingin memastikan apabila seseorang memilih Malaysia, mereka bukan hanya membeli rumah atau mendapatkan visa, tetapi membina kehidupan di sini. 

Turut memperkukuh ekosistem ini ialah kerjasama STF dengan pemain-pemain industri lain seperti penerbangan dan kewangan melalui Batik Air, yang menawarkan tiket penerbangan pergi balik percuma bernilai sehingga RM5,000 kepada pemohon MM2H yang layak di bawah program Batik x STF. 

Manakala kolaborasi STF dengan bank-bank tempatan pula menyediakan khidmat pembukaan akaun deposit tetap dan nasihat kewangan untuk pemohon-pemohon baru. 

Langkah strategik ini dilihat sebagai sebahagian daripada usaha berterusan STF Group untuk menyokong agenda pelancongan dan pelaburan negara, selaras dengan persiapan Malaysia menyambut Tahun Melawat Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) yang dijangka menarik lebih ramai pelabur, pesara dan profesional antarabangsa ke negara ini.
