PUTRAJAYA, Sept 14 Sept (Bernama) -- Putrajaya Corporation (PPJ) plans to create a zoo or a safari park here to attract more visitors to the Federal Government's administrative centre.

PPJ president Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat said a detailed study would be conducted to create a zoo or safari park.

"PPj is aware the Putrajaya area is relatively limited, a detailed study will be carried out to ensure the best plans are put forward for the administration centre," he told reporters after opening the Putrajaya Cats Festival 2013 in conjunction with Malaysia Day at the Putrajaya Corporation Complex, here, today.

He said the Putrajaya Cats Festival 2013 would be featuring 150 cats of various types and breeds including Persian, Bengal, Somali Sphynx, Main Coon and Burmese.

The two-day festival organised for the first time by PPJ, Putrajaya Corporation Young Officers Group and the Malaysian Cats Club is to give the community an opportunity to gain exposure and demonstrate hands-on techniques and methods of proper cat care, he added.

In the competition, the cat owned by Maizatul Shima Abdul Rahman named Milo got the most votes with 1,500 'like', winning the owner a 42-inch 0Liquid-crystal-display television (LCD TV) set.

  1. Putrajaya is not suitable for any zoo or safari park because of land size and noise problem could arise. Let zoo or safari park to be built in other area with no or less population.

Putrajaya Corporation should start thinking others suitable attractions that use less space, probably indoor - with usage of new technology & multimedia technology.

    Please think outside the box!
