All To Play For Tomorrow @ 2017 World Supersport Championship

Orelac Racing VerdNatura news
2017 World Supersport Championship
Round 2, Chang, Thailand
Friday practice & qualifying – 10th March
Conditions: Mostly sunny, 34C, 47% humidity

Orelac Racing VerdNatura riders Fahmi Khiaruddin and Nacho Calero endured a difficult first day of practice and qualifying at Chang circuit in Thailand. Both suffered engine problems and were not able to put in as many laps as they wanted, so will now have to more or less start from scratch tomorrow. With only fifteen minutes of practice available tomorrow morning Fahmi and Nacho will have their work cut off getting their bikes a dialled in for Superpole 1.
Fahmi Khairuddin – 17th, 1:39.474
“Today was a difficult day for us. I am happy with the chassis side of the bike  but the engine performance is not as we expected and that is very frustrating. I am not happy about the engine problems we experienced because we should not have these kind of problems. We’ll put in a new engine tonight and see how that one works tomorrow. Unfortunately, we only have fifteen minutes in the morning to sort the bike out and get it ready for Superpole1, so we really have a lot of work to do and not much time to do it. Hopefully, it will work OK and I will have the chance to make a good fight in Superpole 1 and progress to Superpole 2.”

Nacho Calero – 22nd, 1:39.925
“My bike had an engine problem this morning and I lost a lot of time in that session. The team worked hard and managed to change the engine for the afternoon session and the bike worked a bit better, except that it seems to lack performance. I also had a little problem with the brakes and the front suspension, so it really hasn’t been a good day. I am hoping that everything will work as it should do tomorrow morning and I get the chance to attack hard in Superpole 1.”

Giulio Bardi (Team Manager)
“After the last round In Australia, we were all looking forward to this round. And because of today’s problems we are still looking forwards. We experienced some problems that we should not have experienced and they ruined our chances of doing as well as we expected. All we can do now, is to replace the engines, hope they work OK and fight as hard as we can tomorrow.”
