Luxury mall holds first ever sale with help from mime artists

FANS of luxury retail brands have reasons to shop this month as Starhill Gallery is throwing a two-week sale featuring a list of exclusive brands. According to Starhill general manager Steffanie Chua, the sale began on Nov 12 and will end on Nov 28, was the first ever held at the mall. "It is the perfect time for us to launch this luxury showcase, especially with so many new and interesting developments brewing in Bukit Bintang,

"More significantly the sale was also held in line with our nation's growing importance in luxury retail and duty free shopping especially with the Tourism Ministry identifying more categories for duty free status from perfumes and handbags to apparels, hats and jewellery," said Chua during the launch of its Grand Annual Luxury Sale recently. The two-week affair features brands and tenants such as La Bomba, Vansh, Sergio Rossi, Valentino, Mouawad, Kenzo, Givenchy, Lanvin, Lancel, Red Valentino, MCQ, M.Missoni, Kwanpen, Blu, Korloff, Technomarine, Armani/casa, Philippe Charriol, Jendela KL, IPL Skin Care Centre, SRM Serum Skincare, Soho, Beaubelle, BMIC Nail Spa & Salon, Ligne Roset and The Gallery @ Starhill with discounts up to 70%. The mall is also giving its shoppers a unique experience where they could catch live performances of mime artistes inspired by the boulevards of Paris.

The artists would be interacting with shoppers by entertaining them with their antics while they shop at the mall on Nov, 13, 14, 20 and 21 from noon to 6pm at the Feast, Indulge and Adorn floors. Designer fashion shows are also scheduled where a parade of international models displaying apparels from participating brands like Valentino, Red Valentino, Kenzo, Sergio Rossi, McQ and M.Misssoni in a show themed ‘Salebrations'.

Chua said the sale would be an annual agenda on their calendar which they may stretch it to a month next year when more brands join the mall. Their new retail outlet, Sephora which is targeted to open next month would be part of its all-glass facade of avant garde architecture . "Similar to the famous Pyramid du Louvre in France, the new facade will house the world renowned brand that will be introduced for the first time in Malaysia," adds Chua. At the launch guests were treated to short fashion show where models paraded apparels carrying the name of the participating brands while mime artistes gave a preview of what to expect at their shows.
