KL Harrods unveils cute doorman as it launches Bear Fair

HARRODS Signature Shop and Tea Salon, in Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur now has a doorman bear to welcome customers. The doorman bear was unveiled by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) deputy director-general (development) Zulkifli Ibrahim recently. Zulkifli was representing Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Fuad Ismail. Harrods' partner in Malaysia, Tradewinds Premium Goods Sdn Bhd general manager Sofia Abdul Rahman said: "There is a Harrods doorman at every entrance of the Harrods outlets.

"In London, the real doorman is a tall man in a recognisable green uniform and hat who greets customers as they enter or leave the store. "It is a tradition to have a doorman, now we have a doorman bear which is symbolic of the real doorman at the KL Harrods." In conjunction with the unveiling of doorman bear, the store also launched its Bear Fair. The store is offering a 10% discount on all bears and soft toys until Nov 14. "We thought we could introduce the doorman bear together with the fair since there wasn't a doorman here in KL. The bear fair creates awareness, so now people know that we have bears and softoys at the store," said Sofia.

The store has a selection of Harrods branded signature merchandise including the famous Harrods bears, signature PVE shoppers, biscuits, jams and teas as well as other signature products which are found in the Harrods department store in London. The store also features a bar area serving beverages and light snacks throughout the day. The Tea Salon, which was inspired by the famous Georgian Restaurant at Harrods, provides an environment to relax, dine as well as to have high tea. The walls of the salon are decorated with framed memories and iconic images from Harrods illustrious history.
