FORMULA ONE: Proton thrilled with Kimi's victory


Proton Holdings Berhad and Group Lotus yesterday extended their congratulations to Kimi Raikkonen for his victory in Sunday's Formula One Australian Grand Prix.

Executive chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Khamil Jamil expressed the company's happiness in the Lotus F1 Team's stunning victory achieved by Raikkonen which provides just the boost ahead of their welcome to the Sepang Circuit for the Petronas Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix this weekend.
"This is a great start to the season, and shows that all the hard work put in by the team has begun to pay off," said Mohd Khamil in a statement by Proton yesterday.
Group Lotus is a fully owned subsidiary of national car manufacturer Proton, who will provide a warm welcome to the Lotus F1 Team this weekend.
"We would also like to congratulate Kimi on a spectacular drive, his calibre as a world champion is clearly undeniable. We look forward to welcome him, his teammate Romain Grosjean and the Lotus F1 team to Lotus' second home for the Malaysian Grand Prix.
"We hope that the synergy between Kimi, Romain and the Lotus F1 team will continue to garner more wins throughout the season.
"We have full confidence that not only will Kimi be able to maintain this strong performance, but he can certainly take it up to the next level for the upcoming races."
