St Giles arrives in Mid Valley City

The Gardens Hotel & Residences St Giles Luxury Hotel is Cititel’s first deluxe property.

REBRANDED: Cititel’s two newly-refurbished hotels are now known as The Gardens Hotel & Residences St Giles Luxury Hotel and The Boulevard St Giles Premier Hotel

KUALA LUMPUR: THE Gardens Hotel & Residences and Boulevard Hotel in Mid Valley City, here, have been officially rebranded as The Gardens Hotel & Residences St Giles Luxury Hotel and The Boulevard St Giles Premier Hotel, respectively.
"The four-star Cititel Penang was the first property with the Cititelbrand name to be managed and operated by Cititel Hotel Management. The 451-room hotel was opened in December 1997," said Cititel Hotel Management managing director Datuk Eric H.K. Lim.
"This was followed by the 646-room Cititel Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur, in 2000.
"As a strategic move, in 2010, we introduced the UK/US-based St Giles brand in the Asia Pacific region with the opening of the 512-room St Giles Makati in Metro Manila, the Philippines.
"The rebranding of The Boulevard and The Gardens Hotel & Residences further consolidates the St Giles brand and provides better synergy with our associate hotels in London and New York," he said.
Properties under the brand are The Tuscany St Giles Luxury Hotel and The Court St Giles Premier Hotel in New York, US; St Giles London Classic Hotel and St Giles Heathrow Classic Hotel in England; and St Giles Makati Classic Hotel in Metro Manila, the Philippines.
In line with the rebranding exercise, The Boulevard's 390 rooms were refurbished at a cost of RM10 million.
Its facilities and services include the 24-hour Wild Rice Restaurant, Flutes Living Room, in-room dining, four fully-equipped function rooms for up to 200, a business centre, swimming pool and gymnasium, as well as over 630 retail, dining and entertainment outlets in Mid Valley Megamall and 200 premium outlets in The Gardens Mall.
Located within the upscale precinct of The Gardens in Mid Valley City, The Gardens Hotel & Residences is Cititel's first deluxe property.
Its Grand Ballroom has just been remodelled and its lobby refurbished. It has 647 rooms, comprising 448 deluxe and executive rooms and 199 full-serviced residences of one, two and three bedrooms. Dining options include The Spread, Sage Restaurant & Wine Bar, featuring a fusion of French and Japanese cuisine, Ri-Yakitori Bar, Lobby Bar and Cuisine-On-Call.
The hotel features nine flexible meeting rooms for up to 200 persons and a ballroom that can seat 500. Other guest facilities include a gymnasium, swimming pool and business centre.
The St Giles brand is poised for expansion in Malaysia, with two soon-to-be completed properties in Penang.
The 415-room The Wembley St Giles Premier Hotel is in Jalan Magazine in Penang. It will be the first hotel in the Northern Region to have a helipad.
Adjacent to The Wembley is the 234-room Cititel Express Penang. Both properties are presently under construction and expected to open in early 2015.
