Terengganu Pesona Promotion Goes To London WTM

KUALA TERENGGANU, Nov 4 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu state government, through its Terengganu Pesona Secretariat, jointly with nine government agencies and 34 state tourism industry practitioners participated in the World Travel Market (WTM) in London from Nov 2-5.

Terengganu Pesona Secretariat promotion manager Ahmad Fathil Abd Ghani, who is currently in London, said the WTM is the world's largest tourism forum besides being a platform to showcase and promote the state's tourism industry to tourism agancies and media in Europe.

"Apart from Terengganu, Melaka, Sabah, Sarawak, Langkawi, Penang and Perak also took part to promote their tourism products while the Terengganu delegation is led by state Culture and Tourism Executive Committee deputy chairman Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abdul Rahman," he said in a media statement here today.

Meanwhile Tengku Zaihan said tourism brochures and packages would be distributed widely to tourism agencies during the programme, in which 45 interviews with world tourism agents, print and electronic media and bloggers had been arranged.

Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Mirza Taiyab said Terengganu's participation was encouraged to further promote tourism products from Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Redang, Tasik Kenyir and Kuala Terengganu at the international level.

This was timely in view of the "Visit Terengganu Year 2017, he said.
