MELAKA, May 15 (Bernama) -- The Melaka Wonderland Water Theme Park located at Ayer Keroh, here, which provides 16 slide activities, was opened to the public Saturday. Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said the theme park, which was constructed in August 2009, was expected to attract more than 800,000 visitors annually. "The 30-acre (12-hectare) theme park has 16 slide activities, which is the most in Malaysia," he told reporters after performing the official opening ceremony. Mohd Ali said the project, developed by Melaka Wonderland Sdn Bhd, cost RM80 million of which, RM42 million was the construction cost for the theme park while the remaining RM38 million was for the land and other development such as the hotel which was under construction there.
