Tourism Malaysia Named National Organisation Of The Year At The 10th Indonesia Travel And Tourism Awards 2019/20


PUTRAJAYA, 18 DECEMBER 2019: Tourism Malaysia has once again made headlines by winning the much coveted National Organisation of the Year at the 10th Indonesia Travel and Tourism (ITTA) Awards 2019/20 held on 17 December 2019 at the Kasablanka Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The award was presented to the Director General of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Musa Yusof before some 1,000 captains of the Indonesian travel trade industry gathered for the occasion. 

On accepting the award, Datuk Musa thanked ITTA Foundation for choosing Tourism Malaysia as the first winner of the newly-introduced category.

“This award is a testament to the great partnership and support that Tourism Malaysia received from industry players especially here in Indonesia,”

“This award will motivate us to make Visit Malaysia 2020 a greater success, thus achieve our goals of welcoming a total 30 million tourists to Malaysia and registering RM100 billion in tourist receipts by the year 2020. Our target for Indonesian visitors in 2020 are 4 million,” he added. 

The 10th ITTA Awards 2019/20 was officiated by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Indonesia, Mr. Wishnutama Kusubandio.

A total of 77 awards were rewarded under various categories including airlines, hotels, resorts, villas, suites, tour operators and travel agency, coach/bus company, wellness center, National Tourism Organisations, cultural park and restaurants. 

Judging process combines online voting, assessment by Binus Business School, as well as evaluation by ITTA Board of Advisor. Judging criteria include service quality and brand image. More than 61,000 Facebook users took part in the online voting.
