Tourism Malaysia together with the Ministry of Tourism &
Culture Malaysia will be organizing the Malaysia Christmas Open House
Celebration (MRTM) 2017. The event will be held on 27th December 2017 in the
Portuguese Settlement Banda Hilir, Malacca.
With the composition of various communities living in Malacca in addition to the numerous tourism attractions and products in Malacca, Tourism Malaysia and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture once again had chosen Malacca as the venue of the Malaysia Christmas Open House Celebration in 2017.
The objectives of the Malaysia Christmas Open House Celebration (MRTM) 2017 are:
i. To instill unity, peaceful relations and understanding among Malaysians of various races and religions
ii. To highlight the tradition and culture of the Christmas celebration and turn it into a tourist attraction
iii. To inspire the 1Malaysia spirit in everyone
iv. To encourage domestic tourism
The guests of honour will be YAB Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia with wife, YABhg Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, along with Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Datuk Seri Utama Dr. Mohd Khalil bin Yaakob, Governor of Malacca. Apart of that, YB Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Kurup will also present as the representative of Christian communities.
Tourism Malaysia is expected to organize more Malaysia Open House Celebration next year to encourage more in domestic tourism and to inspire Malaysian towards the spirit of 1Malaysia.
