The second Premium Outlet in Malaysia is expected to open by the second quarter of the year, up in Genting Highlands.

Genting Highlands Premium Outlets is a 50:50 joint venture between Genting Plantations Berhad and Premium Outlets, the outlet division of Simon Property Group. Genting Simon Sdn Bhd opened Johor Premium Outlets in 2011, the first Premium Outlet Centre in the country and South-East Asia.
Building on the success of Premium Outlets as iconic retail destinations around the world, the upcoming centre is expected to draw local and international shoppers to Genting Highlands, which already welcomes approximately 20 million visitors annually.
This first hilltop Premium Outlet Centre in South-East Asia will have 150 designer and brand-name stores -- more than the first venture in Johor -- offering impressive savings of 25% to 65% daily.
Genting Simon chief operating officer Jean Marie Pin Harry said the Premium Outlet Centre was a key component of the Genting Integrated Tourism Plan.
“We are excited that Genting Highlands Premium Outlets will be opening its doors to shoppers soon and are pleased that it complements Resort World Genting’s offerings.
“It is an illustration of private sector participation under the Econo-mic Transformation Programme as well as acting as a catalyst for the tourism industry in the East Coast Economic Region,” he elaborated.
“We look forward to Genting Highlands Premium Outlets continuing to be a source of pride for the community by helping the state build and preserve human resources and develop talent,” he added.
Genting Highlands Premium Outlets is hosting a walk-in interview session in collaboration with some of its brand partners: Adidas, Aigner, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Beauty Scents, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein Jeans, Charles & Keith, Coach, Furla, Gap, Guess, Hugo Boss, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Oroton, Pedro, Polo Ralph Lauren, Puma, Samsonite, Superdry, Swatch, Time Lab and Wacoal.
There are 1,500 jobs vacancies such as sales associates, senior sales associates, sales supervisors, assistant store managers and store managers.
Candidates interested in food and beverage can also apply for positions at Absolute Thai, Baskin Robbins, Dome Café, George & Dragon, Juan Valdez Cafe, Starbucks Coffee, and TCBY Frozen Yogurt.
The interviews will be held at Wawasan 2020 Grand Ballroom of Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort from 10am to 7pm today to Wednesday.
Applicants must bring along their identity card, resume, relevant documents and certificates (both original and photocopy) and a passport-size photo. For details, call 03-2333 3207.
