Tourism Malaysia Promotes Sabah Premier Events 2016 Packages




KOTA KINABALU, 24th April 2016 – Tourism Malaysia Sabah Office with the support of eight Sabah tour agents has developed its latest brochure – ”Sabah Premier Events” Tour Packages – in an effort to step up promotion of the state in line with Tourism Malaysia’s direction enhancing on domestic and also international arrivals by showcasing some of the unique events in Sabah.

The brochure is specially created in conjunction with the state’s five spectacular premier events, namely Sabah Fest (29th April – 1st May), KK Jazz Fest (22nd – 23rd July), Borneo Bird  Fest (15th – 17th September), Mt Kinabalu International Climbathon (15th – 16th October) and Tamu Besar Kota Belud (22nd – 23rd October).

The launching of Premier Events 2016 was officiated by Tuan Ag. Ahmad Zaki bin Abu Bakar ( Director of MOTAC Sabah). Also attendded during the launching were Mr. Sani Sham Ahmad (Director of TM Sabah) and Mr. Richie Lee ( President of Sabah Backpacker Operators Association).

Through these packages tourists will have the opportunity to witness, experience, and learn more about the events. It is also a part of Tourism Malaysia’s efforts to continue offering various innovative and creative tourism packages which includes musical, cultural, sports and niche product.

Ten tour packages ranging from 2 Days 1 Night to 4 Days 3 Nights have been created, promising tourists a fun-filled time with lots of exciting activities throughout the tour.

Among interesting tour packages created as part of the brochure is highlighting The Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon (15th – 16th October 2016). It is high time to promote the new challenging route of Mount Kinabalu to general public.The 3 Days 2 Night ’Low’s Peak Conquerer’  package will enable tourists to witness this amazing race which takes runner to the summit of Mount Kinabalu within hours where the average time climbing the mountain takes 2 days. This package also includes Kinabalu Park, Luanti Fish Spa and Kota Kinabalu City Tour.

For Jazz lovers, the 2 Days 1 Night1 ’A True Rhapsody in Blue’ package offers tourists a guided tour to KK Jazz Festival (22nd – 23rd July). Tourists will be mesmerized by the musical performance. The jazz festival brings together musical talents from around the world. The festival is a fund-raising event. Money raised from ticket sales is used to fund deserving community projects run by the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu. This package also includes Tunku Abdul Rhaman Marine Park full day tour and a brief city tour.
