With the Moto3 field kicking off the first of the days on track action, the DRIVE M7 SIC Racing Team riders made a steady start to their Argentina Grand Prix, using first practice to test various settings on their KTM machines.
Getting dialled in to the Latin American circuit, Czech rider Jakub Kornfeil impressed with his ability to quickly adapt to his all new set up, only narrowly missing out on a top ten position and concluding second practice just 1.170s off first place man Danny Kent.
Teammate Zulfahmi Khairuddin also showed improvement in Free Practice Two. Working hard to pick up the pace, the determined 23 year old continuously improved his time throughout the forty minute session, breaking into the 1m50s lap times and finishing in seventeenth place.

“Today ended very positive for us. We have been working quite a lot on the bike since we arrived in Argentina and after Free Practice Two I can say that I am very happy with the set-up we have here. This morning we struggled quite a lot, but then we made some modifications and it was much better. We just needed some time in the morning to find the right settings for the KTM around this track. Now we are looking for another one second to improve. Everything is looking good and I believe tomorrow it is possible to achieve this.”

“It was a very difficult start to the day, possibly one of the hardest we’ve had since the start of the team. We received an upgrade from KTM and this resulted in us having to completely change the set-up of the bike. Throughout Free Practice One and the break we had to really study all the data and try to understand the bike again with this change. We were trying to find the best solution to set up the bike for the second practice and it looks like we found it. There is still a lot of potential in the bike and this is what we will focus on finding for tomorrow. I’m very happy with the plan that we made and with my mechanics; they are working so fast and so good, no mistakes, so I cannot ask any more from them. I want to say a special thanks to my crew for their exceptional work today. I’m also happy with my progression from the morning practice and I think our position is just about where we have to be, around tenth place. This is good and if it can continue like this tomorrow it will be perfect. We have made a good step today and now it looks like our KTM can work very well for the future.”
