KUALA LUMPUR: Many new destinations and travel packages will be featured at the next Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair in September, said its chairman Jeffri Sulaiman.
This was due to the increased number of National Tourist Offices that would be promoting their respective countries, he said. “With uncertainty over the general election over, we expect that visitor numbers should at least match the 100,188 visitors we recorded in March,” he said yesterday.
He said the Sept 6 to 8 fair would also be “more special” because it would be held in conjunction with the World Islamic Tourism Mart (WITM) 2013. The two events will jointly be known as the WITM-MATTA FAIR 2013.
For the MATTA Fair, he said visitors would find a host of amenities to make their time at the fair more enjoyable, including information kiosks and the new addition of nursing rooms for mothers.
Jeffri also urged visitors to pre-purchase their tickets online so that they would not have to brave the long queues when the fair opened. He said those entering its Buyers' Contest would also have the option to fill in their entry forms, either on-site or later at home.
The WITM will be held in Hall 4, while the MATTA Fair will be held in Halls 1,1M, 2,3, Legar Putra and the Linkway of the Putra World Trade Centre. To pre-purchase tickets or get more information, visit www.witm-mattafair.org.my.
