SHAH ALAM: The country's first interactive wax museum will open in i-City here in August.
I-Berhad director Monica Ong said the 2,787 sq m Red Carpet@i-City would be spread over six themed sections and would feature 100 wax figurines of world leaders, celebrities, sports stars and even record breakers.
“The concept is revolutionary,” she said at the unveiling of the logo yesterday. “There will be an interactive section where the wax figures can move and interact with visitors.”
I-Berhad executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong said the museum's opening was held in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2014. It would serve as an attraction to both domestic and foreign tourists, he added. “The displays will also include a section on Malaysia's Independence,” Lim said. “It will allow visitors to enlighten their children about our history.”
Admission fees have yet to be finalised. Ong said there would be packages and deals made available. “These will help ensure that a visit to the museum would be affordable, entertaining and educational.”
Meanwhile, i-City's Snowalk would be closed for a month in July. Ong said this was to facilitate refurbishment works. “It is also to introduce a new theme to the popular attraction,” she added.
