A Renaissance in the city

JOHOR BARU: Get ready for an experience that evokes the five senses when the Renaissance Johor Baru Hotel opens its doors.
The hotel's lobby is a spectacular visual delight with its grand look and stunning contemporary lightings. As its food and beverage outlets are designed with an open concept, the inviting smell of freshly-baked pastries will lure just about anyone. The setting has that unmistakable charm and finesse of all establishments under the Marriott International portfolio of brands.
Its director of sales and marketing Steven Ong said there will be a soft opening of the hotel on April 18 and the grand opening on May 28.

Although the hotel has yet to open its doors for business, Ong said it already has bookings from church groups in Singapore. With 345 rooms, guests can choose either the deluxe room, the pool terrace which has access to the pool area, the club floor rooms, junior suite or the presidential suite which cost RM5,000 per night. Ong said the 17-storey hotel also has meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 300 people and a ballroom that can seat 450 people.
Part of the building is designed to invite natural light as this Marriot's trademark green initiative.
Diners can savour tantalising spreads at the hotel's Wan Li Chinese Restaurant, which features chefs trained in Europe and China; the R Bar; and the Chocolate Cake Company, which has freshly-baked pastries. Don't miss the gastronomic treat at BLD Cafe, which is the hotel's all-day fine dining restaurant.
Ong said the company chose to set up the hotel, the first in Taman Permas Jaya, Johor Baru, due to its proximity to the Senai International Airport, Pasir Gudang and Tebrau. For enquiries, call 07-381 3333.
