Minifigure Moments At LEGOLAND® MALAYSIA

Johor, 21 March 2013 – More than 3,000 children and visitors have participated in Asia’s first ever Minifigure Swap, which is currently taking place at LEGOLAND® Malaysia. Since its launch last week the Minifigure Swap has won the hearts of children and LEGO® fans all over the region and the craze is spreading rapidly.

The Minifigure Swap is a long-standing and highly popular LEGOLAND tradition which involves the trading of small LEGO figurines called Minifigures. It started in LEGOLAND California and is designed to encourage interaction between Model Citizens (LEGOLAND Staff) and Park visitors.

The introduction of the Minifigure Swap to Asia has been timed to coincide with the school holidays in Malaysia and will run until the end of the month. The concept is that guests can swap their Minifigure with the Model Citizens who
wear the figurines on their name badges and have no choice but to agree to the exchange. Park guests may also wish to trade with each other but, if they want to hold on to their favourite Minifigure, they are not under the same
obligation to swap.

Park guests can trade Minifigures as many times and with as many Model Citizens as they wish, and most continue until they have their Minifigure Moment – getting their hands on their ideal Minifigure. Because model citizens have
access to some of the most sought after figurines, Minifigure Moments have been happening all over the Park. Children on a mission have exchanged artists for astronauts and surfers for Spartan warriors with Model Citizens and
each other.

Raja Mohd Afiq Aiman bin Raja Nor Azam Shah (age 11), a school boy from SK Air Molek in Johor, is one of the many children who has already participated in the swap.  He was delighted that his first trip to LEGOLAND coincided with
the Minifigure Swap. His search took him to all corners of the 76 acre theme park as he exchanged with Model Citizens as well as his own friends. His Minifigure Moment came late in the afternoon when he got his hands on Mr.
Good and Evil Minifigure. He said: “This is the first Minifigure I’ve owned and I can’t wait to come back soon and swap it for a new one.”

To help guests get involved in the activity, a complimentary Build a Minifigure voucher is being given away with the purchase of a ‘Kids Meal’ at selected food and beverage outlets at LEGOLAND Malaysia until Sunday 31st March. The
vouchers can be exchanged at three designated Minifigure Redemption Stations around the Park. Additionally guests can purchase Minifigures from any retail outlet in the Park and they can also build their own custom Minifigure at
the Brick Shop.

The exclusive ‘Spot the Minifigure’ give-away is also still happening in the Park. Every day a custom-built Minifigure is worn by a designated Model Citizen. Each time a lucky guest correctly identifies the Minifigure they are rewarded
with a special prize and the custom Minifigure is passed to a new Model Citizen ready to be spotted again. Prizes include LEGO toys and meal vouchers that can be used throughout the Park’s F&B outlets.
