Another marathon, dubbed the Borneo International Marathon, is also set to attract running enthusiasts to the state capital on May 5. It encourages non-runners to take part in the long-distance running event by signing up as photographers, volunteers and cheerleaders.
On June 15 and 16, tourists can experience the excitement at the Likas Bay as local and international teams race towards the finish line at the 28th Sabah Dragon Boat Race. Organised in conjunction with the Duan Wu Festival, the race is one of the main sporting events in the state.
