Promoting tourism and culture

KUALA LUMPUR: The theme of this year's Miss Tourism International Grand Finals is "Promoting tourism, culture and friendship".
The annual New Year's Eve event will see 55 aspirants from around the world vying for the title. TV2 will be carrying live crossovers of the event. There will also be a live web broadcast on 1Malaysia IPTV. For the first time, the organiser, D'Touch International, will be crowning Miss South-East Asia.

The top five winners will be awarded the titles Miss Tourism International, Miss Tourism Metropolitan International, Miss Tourism Global International, Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International and Dreamgirl of the Year International, respectively.

Each of them will also get a RM100,000 scholarship from the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. The contestants will be vying for 11 subsidiary titles, such as Miss Sunway Charm, Miss Alexandre Christie Personality and Miss Poh Kong Glamour.

During their two-week stay here, the 55 beauties will be involved in a slew of activities and promotional appearances.

Today, they are visiting Beverly Wilshire Medical Centre in Jalan Tun Razak, here, at 11am. Tomorrow, on Christmas Day, they will be at i-City in Shah Alam at 3pm. They will be going on a heritage tour in Malacca on Wednesday. They will be at Number One Hot Spot Restaurant at 11.30am and go on the river cruise at 8pm.
