Digital art competition online


PETRONAS and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Petronas Lubricants International (PLI) Sdn Bhd, introduced the world's first online digital fluid art gallery known as Fluid Art Movement by organising a three-day event at Sunway Pyramid here recently.

KUALA LUMPUR: "This unique campaign is a platform that allows anyone across the world to go online and create works of art," said PLI chief executive officer Amir Hamzah Azizan at the event.
The campaign, which was earlier launched in Milan by Amir, had the support of F1 drivers Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg.They were the first to showcase their art works in the gallery during the launch. Netizens are encouraged to visit www.fluidartmovement.com to participate in the contest.
They can create their own works of art on the website with a variety of tools and colours available on-site. People across the globe can view and vote for their favourite artworks on the online gallery and contestants with the highest number of votes win.
There will be up to 20 winners from all over the world who will win a seven-day, six-night, all-expense paid trip for two to the F1 Grand Prix in New Jersey and a holiday package to New York. Amir said winners will get a fully-guided tour of the city that never sleeps.
"On top of that, they will get to meet our Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team drivers. Participants also stand to win many other prizes such as an iPad, Samsung Galaxy SIII, Canon DSLR EOS 1100D Kit, Sony LED TV 40", Panasonic LCD TV 32" and Petronas products. "We even have weekly prizes which include a Toshiba 24" LCD TV," said Amir.
Contestants can increase their chances of winning by showing their works on popular social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Flickr, Google+ and many more.
Countries involved in the campaign include Italy, Spain, Belgium, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Poland, Turkey, Portugal, Denmark, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, India, Japan, South Africa, Sudan, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Colombia.
