KUALA LUMPUR: Two paintings by late National Art Laureate Datuk Syed Ahmad Jamal, entitled Ronggeng and Pemudi dalam Hujan, worth RM1.1mil each, are among the works being showcased at the Nuansa Nusantara exhibition at the RA Fine Arts Gallery in Solaris Dutamas here.
RA Fine Arts Gallery director Raja Ahmad Aminullah Raja Abdullah said the exhibition was aimed at giving Malaysians the opportunity to enjoy the artworks of the country’s renowned artists such as Syed Ahmad Jamal, Nik Zainal Abidin, Abdul Latiff Mohidin, Kartika Affandi and Mansor Ghazali. “It’s not easy to hold this exhibition as some paintings are personal properties and some artists felt they were too precious to be shared.”

He said this at the opening of the exhibition and the launch of the book,Nuansa Nusantara Art & Liberation, by the Raja Muda of Perak Raja Dr Nazrin Shah yesterday.
